Wonderful experience. It is about 3 hours drive from Bangalore. Car can go until half way to temple. We have to climb about 160+ steps. We did not feel it difficult, even though it rained for few minutes(age 74).It is worth to include during any Mysuru trip plan.
Easily we can visit Srirangapatnam also on the way back

The temple is sacred in the first place & Puliyogere is very famous ( a not to miss oppurtunity when one happens to visit). There is a film shooting spot which is spectacular.

Visit the Cheluvanarayana Temple, historic and calm place.
No dress code restrictions. Easily accessible by car.
We visited the Yoga Narasimha Temple on the hill top also. The car goes half way up.
You have to walk for 45min to get to the top and have darshan. quite good.

Not much eateries in this area. We ate at Subbanna's mess. The place is a traditional
banana leaf south indian food in meals style. You are given rice, palya etc. The most tasty dishes
are Puliyogare (must try) and the Sakre Pongal (must try). If you are worried about crowds, better to
pack a small lunch and eat aside. The mess can be quite crowded for meals. Parking is in narrow streets
so plan for some time. The taste of food is really good.

On the whole a beautiful and calm place.

This place is around 33 kms from Mandya in state of karnataka. There are 2 temples of Lord vishnu. One is at the top of the hill and another at the foot hills. We need to climb the steps to reach Yoga Narasimha temple where you can see Lion headed God in Yoga posture. At the foot hills Lord Vishnu is worshipped as cheluvaraya swamy. Both the temples resemble dravidian style with pillared structures and big corridors. On the way to yoga narasimha you can find the temple pond where devotees can take bath
