Jakhoo temple is situated in the jakhoo temple hill. The pathway to this starts from one end of mall road. There is also a roap way to reach the temple. The walk up to the hill is very steep, however enjoyable.

The rope way to Jhaakhoo temple has a beautiful panoramic view of the city and hills. Peak has tall n handsome cedar trees and also a 360 degree view of Shimla and many other surrounding hills. The majestic statue of Lord Hanuman standing tall on peak is revered. There are some eating options but best being ‘Under the tree’.

Jakhoo Temple is one of the must visit place in Shimla. Trekking is bit Tough for a person who donot have daily walking habbit like me. Best part is one can drive upto the Temple or choose Rope way however it is bit expensive around 500/- per person. Once you reach there you will find peace and a pure Nature. Few Shops for refreshments like Tea and poori cholle.

You can find budget stay nearby temple hill starting. Best time if you start early morning and enjoy breathtaking forest view.

Kufri being another place you can cover. Visit Kufri zoo, an Hour long and around 1 km long place tour. Nearby Lalit Cafe at walking distance is best place for meal and Shopping. Enjoy lovely Icecream scoops outside the Cafe. Don't forget to get clicked with Yak which you can fine on Road side near Kufri at Just 50/- Rs. Per person.

If you have your personal vehicle than its great you can save time and Money, else hire a cab for full day.

People generally dont go there just for worshiping Hanuman but also to have rope way ride. Lots of monkeys around make you scared and its a daring act reaching till the rope way pickup point. you may go down to Mall road by rope way and do shopping and come back on top, or vice-versa.

The Jakhoo hill has a very serene Hanuman mandir on top. The winch journey to this hill from near the Ridge area (walk for quite some time to reach the starting point of the winch) is very steep and thrilling with good views of Shimla town and the hills around.

The big statue of lord Hanuman atop Jakhu hill can be seen from the ridge. The ropeway to reach atop the hill also from Mall Road, but is expensive.Another way you can climb the stiff hill to reach the temple, which may not be possible for all.The best way to go is to hire a cab, pliantly available near Ridge and other places from Shimla.Taxi charge Rs.1500/--Ra.1800/- for to & fro journey. Prefer small taxi as the road to top of the temple is narrow & stiff.

The hill can be accessed by car or cable car, however, beware of the monkeys, swarming the hill. The monkeys are always looking to snatch away something, so be very weary of your belongings.

Saying is that lord hanuman stopped over on this hill while he is on his way to Himalayas searching for sanjeevini. History apart the temple is beautifully located on hill top approx. 6 km from mall road if you choose to trek. In case trekking is not your cup of tea you can opt for rope way or cabs that drop you to and fro. No entrance ticket though for the temple. One caution " monkeys keep roaming around and they snatch goggles in particular , trust me I didnt believe it either but i saw in real. So do not wear spectacles when you visit this temple".

Ropeway costs 250 per head while car rental is 500 for pick and drop. It might get cold during dec to feb so wear enough clothing. You bet little options of food on top so you can plan it back down to mall road.

Reach mall road - take rope way or take cab

The trek up to the temple is steep but worth the climb. The humongous idol of Hanumanji is lofty and visible from all corners of Shimla.
A word of caution be careful of the monkeys.
