Very well managed and maintained. Does not take long to cover. Give a glimpse of Shimla and Army. Jai Hind.

The grounds were beautifully kept and green, with a small snack stall at the back. The army museum was interesting for the kids but the real highlight was the stunning greenhouse that is home to a large variety of cacti. We spent a pleasant afternoon enjoying the view as golfers played on the Annandale (tourists are not allowed) and drinking milkshakes from the stall. Do remember that a valid government ID proof is required to prove your nationality as an Indian to enter.

A hidden place in mountains and forest. I thanked 3 times to my taxi driver who took me to such a place.

Not really my interest but for someone who is interested in army history this is the place to go. Lovely grounds and great views. Bring your passport because the guards will ask to see identification.

Looking like it might have been in Canada, this compact museum about Indian Army matters is well worth a visit if you can fit it in. It is in a bowl at the foot of Shimla and very well looked after. Bring your passport (or a copy) as it may be required - this is an army site.

The two adjacent houses in which the museum exhibits are displayed are very attractive and the grounds are pretty and serene. The one story museum, which is free, is very modest. Huge plaques full of written history, a few high school quality dioramas (sp?), a room full of Caucasian manniquins wearing historic and contemporary Indian military uniforms, a room of military unit flags, another of guns, swords, bayonets.

I am sure that someone knowledgeable about Indian military history would enjoy this more than I did. However, I found the comparable displays at the state museum to be more interesting- more photos of contemporary military endeavors (along with other art and history) than those featured here.
