The temple can be reached by feet or by car. The roads are a little narrow so suitable for small cars. Beware of the monkeys near the temple. If you wear glasses/sunglasses, then be sure to remove them. The monkeys are notorious for grabbing them. The main temple is beautiful as is the huge statue of Hanuman overlooking all of Shimla.

It was a great hike to the temple. Somewhat strenuous, but well worth it. The monkeys have been given a bad rap - they never bothered us or posed any threats. On the other hand, we saw some young people throwing rocks at the monkeys to get them mad and aggressive!

Shimla journey is incomplete without a visit to the jhakoo temple! This is the highest point in shimla and the statue of lord hanumanji is visible from almost any part of the city. Beware of monkeys here and take care of your bags. Very lovely place and the best part is it also has a ropeway.

We had a nice darshan at the temple.
While going to the temple, one guy outside the canteen asked us to visit for meals.
Since we were very hungry, we said let us visit post our darshan.

We went inside the canteen, it was a very homely place, very basic and limited menu.
Curry Chawal - 3/5
Rajma Chawal - 5/5
Chowmein - 3/5
Kulcha Chole - 5/5
Mix Bhajiyas - 5/5

The service was very prompt and rates are vfm.

We walked from the Ridge near the mall and up to the statue. The walk is a nice hour walk - bring a bottle of water and take stops to rest. You can either take stairs or walk beside them on good paved surface. Once you reach the top you will be able to visit the temple for some fee (we didn't go there) or just hang out to look at the giant statue or watch the numerous monkeys that live there. We saw a monkey that had stolen a sandal but when it was offered some peanuts it returned the sandal. Clever. We had been warned for the monkeys but they were not more annoying than they usually are in touristy places.

The temple is located at hill top which has tallest statue of Hanuman. This statue can be seen from everywhere within Shimla city. It is said that Hanuman has landed on this hill while carrying Sanjeevani. Due to his immediate landing this hill has redcued its height. The temple has some calm surroundings from where you can get some good views of Shimla.

There are lot of monkeys hence please keep your food items, Goggles and other things inside bag. The best and cost effective way to reach this temple is hiring taxi from church near Ridge. They take Rs.500 for entire Taxi (to and fro).

Those who are not good in hill driving please save your car from clutch burns as the road is narrow, steep and has some good gradient of hair pin bends where you need to reverse the car due to narrow width. To add to this the parking at top is limited and is always full with local cabbies.

Amazing place to visit when u are in shimla. Lord Hanumanji's statue is so tall that it can be seen from anywhere in the city. There are 3 ways to come here: car, trek and ropeway. I would not recommend the ropeway because its very expensive. The car is a good option but if u are a tourist then probably u should take a taxi, because driving there is hard for a person who is not used to it. Trekking is for adventurous people. So its ur choice but i told my opinion. And also dont take any valuables, because there are a lot of monkeys which can snatch stuff, and if u dont give the stuff then they will harm u, otherwise its rare that they will harm humans

This temple of hanuman ji is located in jakhoo hills, near mall road in shimla. There is an ancient hanuman temple along with a statue of hanuman ji of 108 feet.

Once you reach to the end of mall road, there is a steep climb of 2 kms to reach the temple. The other option is to reach the it through a ropeway. For the ropeway also one has to climb up around 15 mins from the mall road. It is a must visit temple once you visit shimla.

Hanuman ka mandir, we visited in 2015, you need to climb up about 100+ steps. One will get clear view of the hill. The tall statue of Hanuman must watch.
