Lovely place, well maintained facilities and free entry that is even better. Loved feeding the monkeys and watching them play. The temple is a bit uphill, can be reached by car or by foot for people who don't mind a good walk uphill. Beautiful scenery and peaceful environment.

The visit to Jakhu temple, the rooftop of Shimla, was a wonderful experience. ITs situated way above Shimla, and the huge statue of Hanuman, the Monkey god of Ramayana, is visible from tens of miles around, standing tall above the skyline of the Shivalik ranges. We took a full day taxi from our hotel that took us to all the... More

The highest point of Shimla. A must visit. Experience the interaction with monkeys scanning your pockets :) A friendly advice would not scream let them do their job and they will just leave you unhurt. Though not an experience with everyone. If you want to avoid this interaction, avoid bulged pockets. The place is nice, serene and just ZERO pollution.... More

I've been here twice and the moment i enter inside the temple I feel blessed. Its serene and calm. Just remember to have a stick in your hand to avoid loads of monkeys all around.

This is an amazing temple. There are so many monkeys running around. We even saw monkeys on the monkey bars of the children playground. The temple itself is small but very welcoming. Beautiful large statue of Lord Hanuman. .

Awesome views but watch out for those blessed monkeys. They are as quick as a flash at stealing your sunglasses and most probably phones and cameras too. Quick thinking and a bag of peanuts saved the day. Worth going to see but pick a stick to shoo off the monkeys. Don't hit them just wave it in front of you... More

Ancient temple in the shades of pine and cedar forest, just outside the town. Requires 5-10 minutes walk to reach the main temple. Beware of the large populations monkeys. The highlight is the HUGE statue of Hanuman, which is visible from the town.

We loved the whole experience of getting up to jakhu temple. We chose to walk up from the Mall Road. It took us 2-3 hours to climb up at our leisure. The forest path is awesome. Make sure to buy or rent a stick at the starting point. Because there are many many monkeys at the top. They simply come... More
