Good temple to visit - very good location, great sceneries and obviously spiritual. The big statue of Hanuman Ji is worth visiting. Beware of monkeys though - they wont harm you but will take anything they can steal like your shoes, dupattas and spectacles and then it would take some hard work to get them back if you are lucky... It is a lovely temple on the top of a hill. But your experience gets marred as the monkeys pounce on you the moment you get out of your car and snatch away your belongings... The monkeys took both my parents glasses/spectacles and they were not able to see anything. The guy selling prasad asks you to buy prasad to... More

A short drive from shimla, but one needs to climb stairs to reach up to the temple. It boasts a gigantic standing statue of the monkey god in Hinduism. The stairs are steep and might not be suitable for aged persons. The monkeys are a menace there, so one needs to be cautious.

I visited Shimla in mid of January 2017 with my wife. It was snow everywhere during that time. Evening we visited Jakhu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman located on hill top.One need to climb steps to reach the temple. It will take around 30 minutes for a fit person to reach top. There is a majestic statue of Lord Hanuman and... More

One of the must visit places in Shimla with 108 feet tall statue of God Hanuman at an altitude of 8100 feet. It is the highest peak of Shimla as well giving panoramic views of the mountains. Weather at the temple was so cold that we felt like freezing. But beware hundreds of monkeys all around. Original temple is very... More

It's a memorable place in Shimla. It's situated in big height. The main attraction is a huge statue of Lord Hanuman and the monkey menace. Never go with spectacle in in eyes.... Monkey will take away. They will only give back if you give them prasad. Just nice experience to be there

The temple is on top of a hill and gives very good views of Shimla. The Hanuman statue is the tallest I have seen , and could be over 120 ft..You have to be careful about your items , as there are too many harmless well trained monkeys in the temple , which will not hurt tourists but try to... Jakhu Temple is on Jakhu Hills in Shimla which is located on a steep hill but you can go by car and then climb up for 10 mts. There is very ancient temple of Lord Hanumanji who it is said had halted for some time when he was bringing Meru Parbat from Himalayas for the vanaspati required for curing Laxmanji.... More
