About
Temples and crumbling mansions lie hidden in narrow lanes. So are remarkable sights: monks, monkeys, gods and ghosts, sacred trees, a glittering wedding market... Walk with our young guides, stop, take a picture, ask questions, listen to stories that merge the old with the new. Take a rickshaw to the permanent yellow red mist of the spice market. Climb for a rooftop view. The Street Connections Old Delhi Walk is run, enthusiastically, by ex-beneficiaries of the Salaam Baalak Trust, an Indian charity working with street children. It ends at SBT's largest boys' shelter home where you hear the guides' own stories and why other children still run away. We invite you to come and see all this, and by doing to help the guides build their independent lives, and help the Trust's ongoing work too.

This tour was poignant, eye-opening, educational, varied, and moving. Rohit is a warm, knowledgeable guide who has lived what he talks about. From temples to bazaars, narrow backstreets with havelis and businesses, a couple snacks, and a visit to the school for street kids and others, few tours in India will cover so much in a first-person way. Rohit’s story is both touching and inspirational, and he knows firsthand the places, experiences, and people he shares with you. It is an honest look at areas tourists rarely explore. Rohit will also direct you to other popular tourist sites afterwards, like the Red Fort, if you wish. You will be in good hands. Take some time to experience the daily lives of the people most of us whiz by in a taxi or auto-rickshaw, if only for a few unforgettable hours.

Our tour guide was not only able to answer all our questions and was very knowledgeable about Delhi and India in general, but also took us to very exciting places that you would never get to yourself. Rohit was incredibly nice, courteous and helpful. He helped us find our driver again and waited until our driver was back even after the tour was over. I can only recommend this tour and guide. Not only do you get to know Delhi exactly as the city really is, but you also do something good and support a really great organization.

We had a wonderful walk through old Delhi with Rohit. We really enjoyed his company. He is a wonderful tour guide I highly recommend to everyone. It might be best to do the tour when you arrive in India. We learned so much about Indian culture and people and were impressed by Rohits English skills and vibrant knowledge. His own story as well as the work of the trust touched me deeply! We really want to support what he and the NGO are doing!

This was the most authentic experience and the best option to start exploring Old Delhi. Rohit, our dedicated guide showed us absolutely off-the-beaten track of Old Delhi. We've been introduced to social, cultural and religious background of Indian life. His broad explanation dimnished cultural shock and helped us navigate around. I am totally grateful for such an amazing tour. Totally worth it!
PS Thanks to Rohit, we learned what kind of aid for the street children is reasonable.

I've been to Delhi a couple of times before, but never been on this tour, well I should have gone much sooner!
ROHIT was an amazing guide, and with him it was possible to explore parts of Old Delhi that I would not otherwise have ventured on my own.
He was very knowledgeable, and made sure I had a really good time. Would recommend this to anyone coming to Delhi!

Our time exploring Old Delhi with Sanju was absolutely incredible. Thanks to him, we discovered hidden gems and experienced facets of the old city that would have been inaccessible otherwise. Sanju provided the entire tour in flawless French, and we even shared the joy of singing French songs towards the conclusion. Sanju is not only a radiant individual but also an exceptionally professional and considerate guide. We wholeheartedly recommend this unforgettable experience that left us with cherished memories.

It was great to take this walking tour. It is the only way you could experience old delhi and navigate narrow and interesting streets. khursheed was an awesome guide. Highly recommend.

I can't recommend this tour enough! Walking the streets of old Delhi was the highlight of our family trip. We were guided by Sanju, an incredible young man who was kind enough to share his personal story with us and showed us a side of the city we would've never seen otherwise. Sanju made us and my 6 year old daughter feel at ease and was able to answer all our questions...and amazing fact about him, he speaks great French! Truly inspiring!

We were on a Riviera organised holiday and they introduced us to the amazing team at the Salaam Baalak Trust. Such a great initiative to help support and educate street boys. More recently extended to include girls. Our fantastic guides had benefited from the trust . Would definitely recommend. Felt so safe in their hands, learnt so much and a genuine organisation.
I rarely write reviews but can’t recommend them enough. Your support can really make a difference.

Hello,
We are trying to book a tour through the webpage form and email addresses, but none of them seems to work (got the emails rejected as non-existent).
Are the tour still active? And in that case, how could we arrange a tour?
Best,

Hello. I'm sorry about the communication problems. As far as I know the e-mail stated (walk@.. ) is working, as we have been receiving and sending them in the last couple of days and I have just sent a test mail ok. e-mail is the best option although you can also call Dilip on (+91) 98116 82348 or Khursheed on (+91) 88826 73352. I am in London at the moment so in a different time zone but on (+44) 7881 505377.
NB TripAdvisor does not allow us to repeat the email address.
