Reality Tours and Travel is a responsible tour operator providing fun and authentic experiences around India. We invest 80% of our profits back into the communities we visit through our NGO Reality Gives. We are especially well known for our educational Dharavi and Sanjay Colony Slum Tours that show visitors the industrial and residential areas of Indian slums. We also offer city, village, multi-day and customized tours. Our tours educate visitors about the issues as well as opportunities in slums and hopes to encourage them to understand underprivileged communities better. We use 80% of the tour profits and 100% of merchandise profits to fund our sister-NGO Reality Gives that runs and supports a variety of programs in Dharavi and Sanjay Colony. Our goal is to provide authentic and though-provoking local experiences through our tours and to use the profits to create change in our communities. Our vision is a world where all tourism promotes cross-cultural understanding and local development. Our NGO, Reality Gives, provides young people in the local community with high quality education and experiences to help them maximize their potential. We do this by focusing on English, Computer and Life Skills classes as well as a series of activities and workshop in expressive art and sport. We run these program out of three community centres around Dharavi and are currently setting up similar projects in Sanjay Colony.

Today we toured the neighborhood with Sam. We walked in the alleys, saw unusual sights and understood the lifestyles in the neighborhood. Sam took us to stay with a very nice family. We did the full day sightseeing tour with public transport with Stanley as our guide and it was amazing. He was very friendly, took us to some of the most beautiful and interesting places in Delhi and had a lot of knowledge about the history of the city. He also made sure to help us get back to our hotel safely after the tour was finished. It was just great. Thank you again Stanley, we really enjoyed the day!

I took the Old Delhi food tour. It’s a great opportunity to try authentic food. All the food places have been vetted by the tour company so there was absolutely no problem at all with the food. Aside from the food, the guide was also very knowledgeable and eager to share cultural and historical background information.

A very interesting tour with our guide Sourav. He told us a lot during this Old Delhi markets & temples tour. We were very happy to have him as a guide. We got a good impression of Delhi.

Sourav was great for the whole trip. We managed to see a lot in a short time, and he had good explanations for everywhere we visited. Perfect way to experience Delhi in a short period of time

This was my third time and took a visiting friend from Japan. Best way to walk around and see the hustle bustle of Old Delhi and enjoy food. Naresh was a great guide.

* I give one start because of the great Guide
** I gave two stars for the cool and unique underground and rooftop walk.
However, This should NOT start at 10 am from the Spice Market which is mostly close till 12. After the walk finish, I needed to walk back to enjoy actually.
Recommend:
1. Stop to look at the Fort is a waste of time better use in the old town markets
2. Start at 12 pm and with the Sikh Template so to get MAX experience from going into the markets when they are open and busy.
3. Add some experience, like testing

We're really glad you found your guide to be so great and that there were aspects of the tour you really enjoyed...we're sorry it was anything other than 5* however.
Typically this is a really popular tour, with over 99% of guests reporting they would recommend it. On the tour, we feel it's important to take people to the Red Fort given it's incredible history and continued cultural relevant (it still plays host to annual Independence Day celebrations. We're sorry you didn't get a sense of this on the tour. Similarly, the Spice Market typically runs from 6am (with most businesses opening by 9am) - we regret you didn't get a sense that this was the case on the day you visited.
We hope to see you back here in Delhi (or over in Mumbai soon) and would love the opportunity to give you the 5* experience so many of our guests enjoy.

I choose the Food Tour simply because it was the cheaper option compared to the other food tours provided in Delhi. The Old Dehli tour is weak and not tied into the food you eat. The historical information is provided in a lecture format, often repeated and not engaging.
If you can overlook the Old Delhi tour piece and hold out for the food bit, it's a good value for the street food experience. There were some excellent dishes and Reality Tours is cautious about where you eat. Also, the guides were very friendly, caring and accommodated any requests we had.
I think Reality Tours can knock this out of the park if they focused more on the food.

As I hope can be seen by the vast majority of our feedback our food tour is very popular generally and the blend of sampling the history of Old Delhi with the incredible range of tasty food on offer plays a large part in this. Hi Nick - unfortunately Dharavi's infrastructure is quite haphazard and there's many parts of our tour which could not be navigated by wheelchair. That said, we don't want that to stop you! That cost is for a private tour up to 6 people. The shared tour runs with 2 people or more at Rs1700 per person. Sometimes in off season they can also arrange for 1 person. Best to mail their reservations team where they can advise availability.

Not Paul, but thought I would chime in.
REality Tours is the pioneed in India Slum Tours--I highly recommend their tours for that. Also, I took their New Dehli bike tour and loved seeing the quieter side of Delhi.
Your family would really enjoy the morning 'Delhi By Cycle' Yamuna River tour. It's wild and crazy-- and fascinating at the same time. 'Delhi by Cycle' has been doing tours in Delhi for a long time. The tours all happen from Dawn to 10 am. They are not strenuous--I recommend more than one if you are there a few days. You can't beat the cycling way of seeing Delhi.
