If you're like me and you hate go from to store to store, Kamala is the place for you. Kamala stocks curated crafts from all over India. The price is fixed and the quality is good. I feel like I saved tons of time searching through random stores for random gifts. We went our last day in India so we had a pretty good idea of what we liked in the cities and towns we visited.

BTW there are other craft shops on the same block, most are crafts from one particular state of another.

Thanks to the New York Times for the tip in one of their travel section articles.

This craft outlet of the Krafts council of India is located on the Baba Kharak Singh Marg opposite the Hanuman Mandir can be easily reached from the Rajiv Gandhi metro station & by bus from the Regal bus stop.It is a small shop consisting of two floors with the textile section on the first floor having lovely saris & stoles. All its collections are directly sourced from artisans from all over India & the items selected are all reasonably priced & tasteful.

Terracotta, wood & stone the predominant materials used here & the finished objects here have a rustic charm.Normal service items like cups, bowls, trays, tissue boxes, pen stands & lamp shades etc.We bought some miniature paintings & puppets as presents. There are also some fine copper wall hangings of lotus flower motifs of the shop name kamala & fine gifts of art & handicrafts.A shop to visit.

I bought a bunch of little soaps and things as gifts. They smelled good were locally craft, fee of chemicals, and they took credit cards. Nothing fancy but good local place to get some small items.

A delightful collection of well-made and reasonably priced goods. There is no bartering on price here but that reflects the quality and the fairtrade nature of the shop. Direct from the craftsmen, these products show what a wealth of talent there is in India.

I bought a number of marble tableware pieces - bowls, little boxes and candle holders. They look lovely back in the UK and the quality is beautiful.

In India price negotiations deter tourists . This place you can safely buy with assured quality as they are procuring direct from artisans . The variety offered is very large and choice of price range can suit every pocket .

Named after Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay - the lady who singlehandedly spearheaded the revival of traditional textiles and handicrafts post Independence - this is a hidden jewel of a shop.
Part of the Ministry of Textiles - almost every single piece here is absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced. Amazing little boxes, coasters in marble, Jaisalmer and other stone. Elegant, refined, beautifully done.
Upstairs is the most dangerously beautiful collection of saris and yardage.
A MUST visit for any lover of beauty.
The only other shop like this is in Calcutta
