This is a ancient jain temple from the times of Mughal Dynasty and its popularity is never faded over time. Its a great temple and you can visit is as many times throughout the year. The Padmawati Mata idol here is worshipped by Jain's across the globe and their is a belief that " Maa ke darbaar me koi bhi khaali haath nahin jata". The Friday aarti that takes almost 1-1.5 hrs here transports you to a different world altogether.

This place also boasts of a world biggest bird hospital which fortifies the Jain principle of charity, compassion even towards birds n animals.

This is a famous and ancient jain temple in Chandni Chowk area. The place is peace loving and you enjoy tranquility . This is a place where any kind of sick or injured birds are treated and looked after. A great place to visit and appreciate.

This is very ancient and very peaceful temple of Delhi in the crowded area. Very good jain temple situated in chadani chowk, just in front of Red fort. It shows the great history of Jainism. A Must visit for all.

Chandani Chowk in Delhi is India in a microcosm, where one can see people of different religions and backgrounds living together. Among the many attractions of this famous street, which extends from the Red Fort to the Fatehpuri Mosque is the Digambar Jain Temple.

Located opposite the road from the Red Fort, the Digambar Jain temple is also called the Lal temple owing to its red colour. The temple is a place of worship for the Jain community, but others too can visit during its opening hours. Of special note is the bird hospital housed in the temple, where numerous birds, who were injured or unwell, are treated and nursed back to health.

Alongside a bird rescue hospital, this Jain Temple is the oldest in Delhi and it made for a good, first experience for the many, many other visits to Jain, Hindu, and Islamic sites we made during our 16-day journey through northern India. Made of the red sandstone (it is also known as the Red Temple) popular in the more northern, Mughal-created temples and forts, this smallish Jain temple has a reverential and spiritual feeling all through it, with an earnest, hard-working young man in short robes astutely attending to it. It is quite pretty, in a good location (near the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk), and is well-maintained. You leave your shoes and camera with an attendant at the entrance who assumes you will give him a tip. Check out the bird (and squirrel) rescue hospital on the property.

While exploring old delhi I came across this temple. I asked others about this place to get the information, and got to kniw it is the one of the old and famous jain mandir in Delhi. It is visited by people living far away...

I planned to go inside. It is big with soothing aura, nice made.

Give it a visit and explore the old in a new way..

During my holidays in Delhi, I had visited the giant Red Fort complex and this beautiful temple is located across the street bang opposite the Red Fort complex. The color of the temple is red and had beautiful traditional architecture with intricate carvings on the walls and the tall temple dome which is common with Jain temples in India. This place is definately worth a quick stopover while visiting Red Fort complex.
