We booked both the breakfast and the evening dinner tour on different days.

These proved an excellent way of experiencing Old Delhi.

Our guide, Virat, provided an exceptional experience. He was easy-going, well-informed, and navigated the labyrinth of Old Delhi’s backstreets expertly.

Virat was very cool and knowledgeable on all the food, vendors & restaurants, and life in Delhi itself. It was good fun spending the time with him. He was also very patient with us first-timers to the city - Thanks Virat!

Hope to return and repeat one of these tours with more of my family.

Excellent start to our India trip with our guide Rav on a night street food tour. We sampled all sorts of tasty food, wandered the Chandni Chowk, took various tuk tuk trips and ate and ate…

Don’t eat before you go because you’ll have many delicious treats to try and the food just keeps coming. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Rav was excellent - great English, great food knowledge, lots of interesting facts. Very thoughtful. Couldn’t have wished for a better start. No hesitation in recommending.

We’ve been on many tours around the world but this is the best food tour we’ve ever been on. Rav (Saurqbh) is so passionate and educated about food. The food selection was outstanding and almost excessive. I would highly recommend this tour!

Incredible walk- some of the best Indian I have ever eaten. Virat is knowledgable, a great conversationalist and very witty. The tour was impeccably well organised and thought out. The food ranges from samosa filled with fresh peas and paratha stuffed with lemon and mint to freshly brewed masala chai with delicate cardamon shortbreads - and everything in between.

I m writing this a few hours later still stuffed- I feel like a snake that’s just eaten a rat and won’t eat again for another month- they are not joking when they say come hungry! This the original - and the best- food tour of old Delhi.

Hands down the best food tour in Delhi.

I went in March 2024 for the Old Delhi Night Tour and cannot recommend it enough. It was an excellent introduction to Old Delhi and an opportunity to sample some excellent food.

Saurabh was a great guide, his passion for Indian food is contagious, he is very knowledgeable and happily shares interesting facts about Indian food and Old Delhi.

The company also takes a great care in ensuring we only go to places with good food safety practices and ensures the group remains safe in Old Delhi.

My Delhi trip would not have been the same without this trip!

Great experience with Delhi Food Walks, our guide Saurabh took us through old Delhi where we not only tried amazing food, but was also given insight into the history of areas in Old Delhi along the way. I’d recommend Delhi Food walks to anyone as the emphasis on hygiene was second to none and the group felt very reassured during the walk. Make sure you come with any empty stomach!

Amazing time, we would not have been able to try so much authentic food on our own. Saurabh was a fantastic, enthusiastic guide, giving insight into ingredients, flavors and how to enjoy the food best. He made exploring Old Delhi easy and manageable on our first day in India.

My friend and I went on a dinner tour with Saurabh and he was the best. We had a great time learning about not only the food we were eating, but the culture and history of Delhi. We also appreciated the fact that Saurabh was aware of the safety issues with eating anything that wasn’t cooked in front of us and that touched tap water. This was a highlight of the trip so far and we’d love to do it again the next time we’re in Delhi.

Delhi was our first stop on our tour of northern India and we were slightly nervous about going on the evening street food tour that we had booked. However, it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday! Our guide, Shreya, was excellent and took us to seven or eight different places in Old Delhi to try various dishes. Everywhere had been chosen with hygiene in mind and our fears were completely allayed. Shreya also carried in her bag a bottle of sanitiser and hand wipes so we always felt reassured that everything was clean and safe. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious from sampling various breakfast parathas, chaat, local biscuits through to the biryanis and local desserts. Shreya spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and the foods we tasted. She looked after us very well. If we ever return to Delhi, we would definitely do another street food tour.
P.S. go hungry as you try out lots of dishes!
