I visited this place second time after 3 years. My first experience was really good but this time I was really disappointed. There are no security guards on any floor to stop anyone breaking the instruments. Everyone was just pulling or pushing the instruments and damaging them. Due to this half of them are not working or in bad condition. Regular maintenance needed.
I saw people sitting on Dinosaurs models to take photo. Had there been proper security, people will not touch.
My feedback is that quality has degraded a lot. Its for kids. Request management to maintain the status of National science centre of capital of India(Delhi).

This is an exhibition of science inventions and most of the instruments are really superb to enjoy and develop understanding. Some instruments are non functional and needs to be attended to. Overall it is interesting and enjoyable.

i took my family to NSC last week.i was the one who insisted on taking them there as i had fond memories of this place from my childhood. To my shock, absolutely nothing has changed. in fact the wear and tear has taken its toll on the place. first of all many games, machines, experiments were not in working order. balls were missing, buttons malfunctioning etc. secondly dude, science has advanced so much, india has achieved so much. at least make sure it is properly represented there. zero, zilch. and for god sakes have a tour set up or something, so that the kids can understand what is being showed to them and what is its significance. half of the time i was reading the metal plates besides the machine and trying to explain to my kids what it meant. and the problem was the stuff written on them was not of too much help. suggestion- bifurcate the sections into various age groups. a 10 year old child would have trouble comprehending an experiment which a 17 year old could understand. all in all my kids got bored, wife impatient, i angry. there are better places to spend quality family learning time for sure.

Place is situated close to pragati maidan, and easily reachable from the Metro or HOHO buses in delhi. I simple way to understand a lot complex things for Kids. Few setups need attention but you can definitely have fun while learning.

The National science center was established in 1992 at gate no 1& 2, Pragati Maiden,Bhairon Road just across the Purana Qila in New Delhi. There are huge exhibits on 4 floors making it one of the largest such museum in the world. The exhibits like `The Energy Balls`,`Magic Tap`,Harp playing music just with finger indications from a distance were attracting big crowds of kids.

The other floors/halls had the subjects dealing with `Indian science Heritage`Human life,Information revolution, sunrise emerging technologies & `Water Elixir of life` etc. On my visit with kids, i noticed visits by specially-abled children, workshops for development of special skills for autistic children, science awareness & superstition removal among the less educated kids in Madarsas.Interesting to see the Astronomy awareness talks on dispelling superstitions in India connected with the naturally explained phenomenas like eclipses etc.

The center has been widely appreciated for its promotion of scientific knowledge by innovotive approaches to outreach activities seeing the large number of visitors coming daily. The center lacks in its efforts at up grading their exhibits & knowledge dispensation keeping pace with the development of science in India & abroad instead of the same worn out & aged exhibits.

Being an engineer myself, a science centre would always ring a bell!
My visit gave me a lot of pleasure. The centre is full of innovative and creative models! The displays have models and experiments from all disciplines - Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and of course Physics :))
If you have kids, make it a point to show them this wonderful place!

This place brings such nostalgia. Used to be a must on the school picnics and family picnics as well. A nice place for school kids. They have variety of models to explain some of the important science phenomenons. It has lost of activities and info movies as well. Used to go there almost every year in early 2000s.

Poorly maintained!!!
The building is very nice- a kind of contemporary architecture with juxtraposition of several units to achieve the required corridor-type design: labirynthian!!!
The number of staff should be increased to keep a watch over the visitors and to help them out, just to avoid eve- teasing which often takes place in interiors!
The equipments are in pathetic state and demand urgent and important attention.
This place is meant to built interest and love for science in kids, and not to vanish whatever little curiosity they might already have!
The canteen is nice indeed :)
