Our guide Gaurav was excellent - well informed, he made the tour very interesting. These are some of Delhi's most beautiful buildings, the roads are broad and clean. Totally worth the experience. One only wishes the authorities would not allow events to be held in the surrounding grounds - the unsightly tents mar the beauty of the place, and stick out also because of the litter they add to the otherwise pristine environs.

Indeed it was the best experience. Must try. Totally worth it. Our guide Gaurav was really good, not only he was good in telling about the locations but was also instructing properly so that we have confidence in driving the segway. Best was he clicking great pictures and videos for our best memories.

Wife & I reserved for a 7am segway tour on Feb 15 & nobody showed up. We drove there & asked around if that was the place & was told yes this is where they usually gather. But nobody showed up & we waited over a half hour after 7. Their website is clunky & would not take reservations so we wrote them by email & they agreed to accept payment on site. Luckily we didnt pay but still we were disappointed as we heard it was a nice tour. It also screwed us up by being too early to our first 3 site visits & things were still not open. The craft museum nearby was to be our next visit- closed. The Gurudwara was next & that was nice but their museum only opens at 10 so we missed that. On to Connaught place & shops were still closed. We were tired by 5 or 6 pm as we woke up early & missed hotel breakfast to get to the segway by 7. This was the only company that stood us up in our 3 week India vacation so they better get their act together.

I wanted to give a surprise to the family before we split up for college, projects and my own travels. So, booked into Segway tours 08:15 tour on a weekend. Somehow the website did not work but Bookmyshow did! Told the family to be ready and wrapped up against the cold for departure at 7am. The departure is from the South Block car park (looking down from the presidential palace, it is at the top-right corner) where you will find a van with some segways around. The wife and daughter were a trifle nervous about not having biked and the ride on the streets of Delhi. But the mini training programme took care of that. I took to it like fish to water (bong connection) Took off down Rajpath toward India Gate (couple of traffic lights) and took photos around Amar Jawan Jyoti. The Republic Day parade was being practiced, the Navy band came along and it was really nice to watch them march and play. We then took off towards Parliament House and had a cup of tea at the local street shop (for the finicky, an order of "less sugar" is accepted!) Entered the Presidential Palace first, took some photos and then moved to see the lovely Parliament House. It was a very pleasant morning, the sun was warm, the wind was cold. The guides were brilliant at training us, navigating through the roads of Delhi and giving a description of the various buildings we saw. The guides also took photos on the mobile phones. You can use Go-Pros mounted on your helmet. Since this was our first time, we took the smaller hour-long tour. You can take the longer tours which take you to the Old Fort but that takes a couple of hours. A British couple who took that were complaining of pain in the calf (until the tea stop) but we were all OK. Would we do this again? Absolutely - we loved it and definitely planning to take our guests on a round next time they visit. So what happened next - went home? No way! As a part of the surprise, took the family to Cafe Lota in the National Craft Museum nearby for an Indian-with-a-twist breakfast ! That is also a wonderful segue!
