A privately-owned museum, this one is unusually situated, on an upper floor in Connaught Place, A Block. You have to climb up (no elevator) to the first floor to enter the museum. There is a ticket counter, but the museum recommends that you book in advance, since they only allow in about 50 people at a time, every half-hour or so. Tickets are expensive (we paid Rs 1800 for two adults and one child), but very worth it, as we realized.
The one-hour tour through the museum is a self-guided one. There are ample signages (in English, though you can scan a code to get the explanation in Hindi) explaining how you experience the illusion in question: where to stand, what to do, what you should see/experience, followed by a reasoning of why and how the brain is tricked into seeing something that isn’t there.
The exhibits are very varied: there are lots of images that hang on the walls, and which most of us would have encountered at some time or the other. There is a huge portrait of Gandhiji whose eyes seem to follow you about as you move around in front. There are tilted rooms and a vortex (both of which have warnings for susceptible age groups and people with conditions that might be exacerbated by these places). There is a room with mirrors all around and your own reflection going off into infinity. There is a kaleidoscope, and many more delightfully quirky photo ops.
There are staff members all across the museum, who will come forward to help, to take photos for you, to guide you on how to experience an illusion, and so on.
We had visited this museum with our eight-year old. While we enjoyed it a lot, too, she said, “This is the best museum I have ever been to!”

The museum is a museum of different sorts. It is based on scientific illusions. A fun place for persons of all ages. People can learn many principles of science esp. Optics in practical way while having fun. There are however many drawbacks which spoil your visit. First it takes atleast 1.5 to 2 hours to understand and enjoy the concepts on display. However, the curators of the museum try to rush past/ hush fast the visitors esp.if your slot is 8-9 pm as if hell will break upon, if the clock strickes past 9. So, my tip is, never book a 8-9 pm slot. Second drawback is that the curators are not always present for a guided tour. A full guided tour is expected to be more helpful and fun, esp.for adolescent kids from class 7th to 12th. Third, a few concepts have not been finely worked upon and seem to have been copy pasted from elsewhere in a hurry it seems. Overall its a wonderful place to visit, esp for families. This place fills the gap created by National Science Museum at Pragati Maidan Delhi, which has not been upgraded and has been neglected by the Government for quite some time now.

Museum of Illussions is worth visiting a place. Though we found it a bit crowded even on a weekday and considering the relatively small space, waiting queues were long :(

Celebrated my son's birthday at Museum of Illusions. It's a great place. We had a great time exploring different illusions and clicking pictures. The kids enjoyed the Vortex tunnel and the hollow man illusion. The manager Mr. Krinal was very helpful and guided us from beginning to end. Must visit!

Time to experience interesting illusions that you may have read about. A small place, finishes in about an hour, but full of exciting stuff to do. Don't miss out on the Tilted room, Vortex tunnel, Ames room, the hollow man illusion, kaleidoscope and the building illusion amongst others.
Interactive and fun... Kids and adults will enjoy alike.

It's just amazing. Something different to visit. Must visit if you are in Delhi because definitely you would learn new things and enjoy a lot. Amazing place to visit. Not Only for Kids, but for us Adults too. Located in middle of CP, Delhi.
It’s a perfect place for new experiences and fun with friends and family.
Ambience was super amusing... Much more to learn for science lovers or Illusion lovers... Worth visiting this place..
I recommend to read instructions before entering or clicking pictures. This place can be understood with the support of staff members and they are really helpful in clicking the pictures also with fully cooperative attitude. Building facade will make u sit on top of Building like spiderman. Clean place, many choices of photo spots, can take lots of pictures.
Have tilt room, colour room, infinity room with mirrors will reflect yourself in many directions, and many more. MK Gandhi's staring eyes are interesting.
You have 1 hour slot to visit two parts of the museum. Make online booking to save time because there is a very long line at ticket counter.
Ticket price is comparatively higher side, that may be due to its location.
Visit in weekday in morning hours for better experience as less crowd makes u take better pic.

Does it cost extra than the ticket prize to carry a camera or take photos with phone?
Can I have tickets from the venue or I have to book online?
