I have been lucky enough to visit this slum in person with Santan before. It was such a joy to visit again on this virtual tour. A great option if you are interested in learning about what slums a really like. Always filled with joy for me! Highly recommend this virtual tour!

I was the only one on Santan’s tour of the slums. We stopped a lot as he was interacting with the locals. We visited a kitchen where I was offered to “help”. I gave it a try. As other people have said the people were friendly. I mostly interacted with the children. Word got out that an American was visiting and I had a following of children which I loved! I visited a school where the children wanted to learn an American game so I taught them duck, duck, goose. The kids love interacting with me and practicing their English. Once we got to the slums my tour down there was about an hour. I tracked it on my phone, it was about a 1/2 mile of walking. Bring hand sanitizer with you and wipes if you help in the kitchen to get the flour off your hands. When Santan meet me he asked if I had something to cover my shoulders, so ladies make sure your knees and shoulders are covered on this tour. I felt safe the whole time. Thank you again!

After meeting the guides we were taken out to the slums to meet the community that resides there. Everyone there without exception were welcoming and truly seemed content. Santan and Jaun our guides were well respected and were knowledgeable of the families living there. We had the privilege of meeting a Groom on his wedding day and were welcomed in to see his new home. We made bread at the slum bakery where they produce 8000 chappati a day! There were things that I found upsetting but overall it was an uplifting experience and well worth a visit if you are in Delhi. I felt completely safe in the hands of the guides.

If you really want to experience the true trade of Delhi then Juan is your Man. We met at the metro and Juan was prepared with masks as we were using the metro to get to our first destination. The tour takes you through the narrow alleyways where all sorts of trade are carried out. There are loads of food options if you are brave enough, unfortunately we werent feeling great so at the end of the trip Jaun took us to Dominos!! We walked through busy markets and took rickshaws and tut tuts to see the spice market. Juan is so kind and helpful and will go out of his way to make you feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend this company and the tour
