At the end of January, my husband decided that we should take a vacation in India and asked me to help figure out logistics. With less than a month to figure out where we should go and how to get there, I contacted a couple of travel agencies for assistance. Nishant Thakur responded promptly and proposed a few different itineraries for us. We exchanged many, many emails, as I didn't want to spend most of my vacation in a vehicle driving many hours each day, and those kind of trips seemed to be the specialty of Rajasthan Tourism, since Rajasthan is a big place with many sights and places to visit. Eventually we agreed to a tour of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and afterwards my husband and I went on our own to Udaipur, Jaisalmer, and Kerala, by plane and train, to spend more time in fewer places than Nishant had suggested. My husband had been to India before and witnessed a taxi driver run through 3 red lights, just taking him to the airport, so he was more comfortable in a chauffeur driven vehicle,on a private, customized tour, and was happy with the 5 star hotels, and the list of sights that we were supposed to visit. Nishant Thakur and Surgit Singh met us at the airport and took us to our hotel. They were extremely gracious and understanding, especially considering that our plans were completely disrupted by Air India and the Indian government, who would not let me board our original flight to Delhi, because my e-visa had an extra digit on my passport number. We ended up stuck in London an extra day, to get an emergency visa and buy new airline tickets. We missed our recovery day in Delhi, and never had time for our "tour"of Delhi, as my husband was frantically/and futilely trying to catch up on his work, so that he wouldn't have to bring his computer with him on our "vacation." Nishant and Surgit patiently waited while my husband tried to get his work done, until we really had to leave for Agra, which was the destination of the day. Surgit was an excellent, experienced driver and we always felt safe with him, no matter how crazily the other drivers behaved. Nishant and Surgit patiently answered all our questions and Nishant kept track of our progress and did his best to ensure that our trip went well. The vehicle was very comfortable, large and air conditioned. We stayed at excellent 5 star hotels- the Trident in Agra and the Trident at Jaipur. Surgit was extremely friendly and helpful always. He listened to our requests and desires and went out of his way to make sure that we were well fed, and happy with where we wanted to go, and what we wanted to do. We viewed all the major sights that we wanted to see in Agra, and on the way to Jaipur. Surgit also found us safe, very good restaurants where we could eat, and not worry about getting sick [which we especially appreciated, after leaving his care, because both of us soon came down with Traveler's Diarrhea and fevers]. In addition to Surgit, we also had local guides who were very helpful, but also a bit more problematic, as they wanted to take us to stores, which we weren't really interested in going to. Since Surgit was the chauffeur and listened to us, we ended up skipping the stores, and just visiting the sights that we actually were interested in seeing. We did suggest to Nishant that he clarify on his website that he actually runs two travel agencies, India Rajasthan Tours, and Oasis Travel India, to help people understand him better. The family business has a long history and they also do spiritual tours to Varanasi and beyond Rajasthan. I also asked him for assistance in buying train tickets, which is hard to do from the USA, particularly the more obscure routes, and Nishant was extremely helpful with that, even though it wasn't part of our tour. We greatly appreciated the fact that they were flexible and sincerely did all that they could to keep us safe, comfortable and happy, and show us the sights that they thought would be the most interesting for us to see. We did learn a lot on our trip, and certainly would never have heard of some of the places had Nishant and Surgit not suggested that we visit them. I suspect that their original proposal was actually quite a good and reasonable one, had we accepted it (maybe we would have avoided getting so sick), but I had friends to visit in Jaipur and Udaipur, and flying to Udaipur and Jaisalmer did save us quite bit of time. Some people prefer tours and some people prefer to travel independently, and some people are ok with a bit of each. Nishant and Surgit behaved in very professional ways, while being friendly, helpful, kind and considerate. I think we were very fortunate to have encountered them, and to have had such a good experience with them on my first trip to India.

Booked a day in Delhi, drove to Agra and then on to Vrindavan. Was met at the airport by the owner Nishant and his drive Surjit Singh. From the moment I was met to the moment I was dropped off, I was taken care of like long lost family. The hotels booked were top notch and the tours were the best. We were taken to little markets in Delhi, where locals go to buy things and so got some of the best deals going. Plus, we had asked to go to certain temples and even though one was very difficult to find, they found the way and we got to see it. Agra and the Taj Mahal was deluxe. Nishant had me booked close enough that I could walk from the hotel to the Taj Mahal and so was there at sunrise, the best time to view and take pictures. Surjit, the driver, found a wonderful restaurant in Agra. I still can taste to excellent meal there. He is like a driver and a guide and your son rolled up into one. I will definitely travel with IRT again!!

If you are considering India, go with the best. India Rajasthan Tourism took great care in planning all the details for visiting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. From initial pick-up in Delhi, the staff were always attentive, courteous and fun to spend time with. Nishant, thank you for making this a trip of a lifetime! I will definitely be back.
