I cannot say enough good things about touring Delhi with Gyan Yatra. As a single American female, I only felt comfortable traveling in Delhi with guide, even though I’ve toured other parts of India alone. I feel very fortunate I found Himanshu and his company. From the first point of contact, they were very responsive and flexible about where I wanted to go and what to see. He was personable and professional. It felt like everything about the tour was customizable and flexible. I felt safe with my guide, who appeared to be very knowledgeable of and sensitive to cultural differences; I’ll give an example. At an extremely crowded temple I wanted to visit, we were packed into a tight line as we waited to get inside. He positioned his body to block others so I had a little breathing room (at his own expense!) There were times I noticed someone headed towards me, who then stopped and turned away when they saw my guide next to me. As a result, I felt like I could relax and actually look around and enjoy my surroundings. Seeing the sights with a local person who is passionate (and super knowledgeable!) about history of the city has changed my perspective on solo travel- I won’t go without it again. I can only hope there are more companies like this out there along my travels. If/when I return to Delhi, I would happily book with Gyan Yatra again, as it exceeded my expectations and definitely elevated the experience. I have great memories of my sightseeing and excellent conversations in Delhi, which are truly priceless. Thanks so much, Himanshu and Gyan Yatra!!!

I met Joe (Jeswin) through friends on a previous tour a couple of years ago and kept his phone number which came in really handy this year. I contacted Joe and made arrangements for a three day tour around Delhi tailored to photography of real life. From the moment our time together started it was very clear to me that Joe had researched many options for my consideration and we agreed a plan! I must say that Joe's passion for scam free and safe travel was at the forefront of his mind always. Joe's very detailed knowledge of each aspect of our varied trip was amazing and he took an active interest in guiding and supporting me in my endeavours. Joe was extremely patient and provided me with as much time as I needed in every location and often acted as my interpreter in pursuing photo opportunities that I sought and organising every imaginable type of transport we needed!. This was my fifth trip to India and the time spent with Joe was without doubt made this the most enjoyable trip to date. I have been used to taking tours in India and indeed the three days spent with Joe were just prior to another 14 day trip with a well known tour company in North India. I can honestly say that the time spent with Joe was far more enjoyable, peaceful, and enlightening than any of my previous tours with the better known companies and going forward for my next trip in November and onwards, I shall make direct arrangements with Gyan Yatra. The thing that sets this company apart is their detailed knowledge of local areas and customs and their commitment to making any trip individual to the needs of their client in a passionate and invigorating way whilst always ensuring safety and value for money in this beautiful county.

We had just a day in Delhi before our flight home and so wanted to make the most of it. We booked Jeswin Joseph (Joe) to be our guide because we'd read good reports and we're so glad we did. We started the day at 07:00 and had a full day seeing historical monuments, a Sikh Temple where they feed thousands of people a day, Lodhi Gardens, a local tuk tuk drivers' tea stop and then it was off to Old Delhi for more sight seeing and a food tour. We walked through the narrow streets and Joe bought us various foods to try from the street vendors. We wouldn't have done this on our own so it was great to have someone who knew which stalls to go to. The whole day was an amazing experience, especially the food and the tuk tuk rides in Old Delhi. The noise and the chaos of the traffic but it all seems to work. Joe was an excellent guide and within a very short time of meeting him we felt we'd known him for ages and he is easy company. He's humorous and very knowledgeable about everything Delhi. We'd certainly recommend him.

We were so happy we found himanshu and his great company! Only really Nice people who helped us with everything and reassured us that India wasnt ‘that’ scary. We were searching for a reliable driver, and after turning down at least 4 companys, we found himanshu and he set us up with a driver. ‘Que trumpet sounds’ mister daljeet Singh. Daltjeed was one of the most relaxed and nicest persons we had ever met. He drove really calm, went out of his way to help us with finding hotels if we missbooked one and told us Some tips if we were at a sightseeing place. We are so greatfull that after a busy day in the cities we could go back in to the quit Oasis that was his car. The car was always clean, he never complained, and he was always nearby. Thanks to himanshu and especially daljeet, we had a amazing trip trough rajasthan. Thanks so much! And we really hope to meet you all again! Bart, Marieke and Anna.

We had a fantastic walking tour of both new and old Delhi today with the lovely Himandri. She showed us the Lodi Gardens, with the abandoned temples, the 16th century reservoir, the huge Sikh temple, the red fort, the spice markets of Old Delhi, as well as taking us for an excellent lunch. The sights, smells, sounds of Delhi are best experienced at street level. We took various auto rickshaws, which always prove perilous. Importantly, as we had someone with us who knew the language and customs we didn’t get ripped off at all. It was a fantastic taste of Delhi which we’ll never forget. Thanks so much.x
