Like what most of the people have reviewed here, there is not much to do when its not time for the hot air balloons or paragliding. You can slide down the hill on sled for NT100 which is great for kids. It also has a nice but small campsite. The view around is beautiful especially on clear blue skies.

We went to Lu Yeh for the view, great view though not so many things to do there. The paragliding is worth to do, usually an activity during summer but luckily, the weather and wind is good enough for paragliding when we visited on January. Aside from paragliding, there are grass roller that my kids and I play, which is... More

It is a high point and gives you a great birds eye view of the valley below. Your camera would not be able to capture its beauty in entirety. Have to be there to see it and enjoy the cold crisp air.

It was a sunny day and hot, but the sky was so beautiful and you could see the valley and the coast. It's too bad that the Balloon Festival was already over. The hangriders were nice in sight, but we lacked the guts and cash, so we tried the little carts on the grass hill instead. The ride was NT100... More

Most people who go to Taiwan's International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Luye, actually stay in Taitung. Luye is not too far away (a little under 1.5 hours) and when we visited, the festival organizers had a free shuttle bus that took you directly to the site in Luye from the Taitung Bus Station (there are also shuttles that will... Luye Gaotai is easily accessible so one does not really need a car to get there. We travelled from Taitung and alighted at Luye Train Station. The trains come only at scheduled times so do check and plan in advance. From the station, we hailed a cab by calling one of the listed cab drivers pasted on the wall of... More

Aside the Balloon festival, there isn't much left to see. Except to buy some local tea leaves, souvenirs and to witness how big the field is! (less the hot-air balloons). The paragliding area might not be in operation too as the paragliding instructors might not be at work. Check the tourism board page for updates on exact dates of Balloon... More

Hot air balloon during certain season which we did not come across. Good scenery view at the parachute take off site. If you are doing neither of the activities then not much for you to do.
