Formosa Aboriginal Cultural Village has the largest outdoor museum in Taiwan dedicated to displaying the traditional homes and architecture of Taiwanese indigenous tribes. The nine villages are arrayed over an expansive section of hillside to give visitors a feel of what native Taiwanese villages looked like so many years ago. All buildings were reconstructed based on fieldwork research and blueprints drawn up by anthropologists in the 1930s and 40s.

Nice performance of tribal dances at 1.30 and 3pm. Dont miss it! After that, we tried out the varous activities such as blowpipe shooting for NT100. Further in, there is an amusement park for kids and no queues at all.

Clever idea of incorporating 9 tribes into this village. There is no way you can see the whole park even if you arrive on the dot when they open and leave sharp at closing. It's huge. They should consider having mobility scooters for rent dirt people to take in the whole park. It's a real shame we spent most of... More

While visiting the Great Sun Moon lake, we elected to take two "ropeways" (gondolas) up the mountain to this Village which has reproductions of aboriginal dwellings of numerous tribes.

The driver to help us buy tickets to travel agencies, we arrived at noon near the Cultural Village. After lunch in the park, the official began to play. There are cable cars in the park to facilitate visitors to and from the park. The park has seven recreational facilities, we played the Caribbean Adventure, Maya adventure, gold mining adventure, Star... More

I enjoyed myself so much today at this place that I can't wait to write this review. I like the rides very much and think that this amusement park is underrated. In fact, I will rate the rides here over tokyo's Disneyland as they are more thrilling and less commercialised. Not to forget less crowd, much cheaper and nicer scenery... More

The teens love the splash of the water rides, the thrill of the corkscrew Mayan rollercoaster and the drop of the UFO ride. Insightful cultural performances as well as life-sized models of the houses aborigines used to stay in add colour to our visit. Definitely worth spending one full day there!

There is a little big of cultural learning at the village, and kind of a small "Taiwan Disney" park there. The rides aren't too scary, and they are better for younger children than teens. The garden is gorgeous, and the cable cars provide a beautiful view. I especially enjoyed getting fresh roasted sweet potatoes (malanana) from the local, aboriginal display.... More

Lots to do at the Themepark. Definitely need one full day to experience everything the park has to offer. Hence, would recommend at least a one night stay at Itashao pier before and after the visit aboriginal village. A definite must do is the ropeway (cable car ride included in the entrance fee to the theme park) ride to Itashao... More
