The ideal time to visit the long beaches of Kalutara is from September to April where the sea is calm and less waves. The North Area is more touristic and the Kalutara town and calido beach is more popular with locals. the Kalu Ganga also...More

A clean and neat beach, with space to enjoy without being bothered. The place is good for families and couples and was quite safe when we travelled. The best part was there was no littering of any kind

Very steep there was no way I would swim in this sea too rough and a steep ledge which would be a risk for anyone with a mobility issue.

The beach on this side of the island is all you would want if the sea was calmer. During our two weeks the red flag flew every day . Dont risk it

Comparing to south coast beaches, this is a mediocre and polluted beach with nothing much going on. Filled with locals and therefore garbages it is not recommended to foreigners. Sea is rough and not suited for water activities.

Maybe it was a bad time of the year but this beach was not impressive. It was dirty and left untended by the abutting hotels, bars, commercial enterprises, etc. It could be so much nicer.
