One of a religious place in Anurudhapura. Little bit far from the city center. You have to climb plenty of steps to reach here. Can have a great view from here. There's a rock climbing too. From there you can have a breathtaking 360 view.

Visit in the morning! Nice climb and lots of places to see! Avoid poya time for calm and quiet experience. It has lot of archeological important areas still being discovered. Find a good guide, so you can have a valuable visit!

A must see, because you can see a very nice sunset! You will see a lot of monkey's and you see a big Buddha andere mihintale temple! Don't skip this, it's really worth it!

As far as fitness level, my husband and I are 66 and 67 and had no problem climbing all 1860. We did not take the short cut.

I would feel safe, but am not sure how late it is open. There are guards around.
