About
This place has been endowed with a staircase and a walkway, known as Skaline to people from Podgorica, as well as a retaining wall. Certain historical data says that the area of the Ribnica used to house mills, but their remains were not preserved.

This fortress is a very interesting fortress and personally my favorite place in Podgorica. You can nicely swim in the river here and enjoy the old stones. It is nice to walk here for about half an hour. There are multiple stairs, so it is not very easy to walk here.

The old bridge and the fortress are actually the same spot. They are landmarked separately to the TA page. You can swim in the in the main river. Really nice and cool, especially for those who are used to swim in the rivers and lakes. The side river, where the swimming place is marked, is totally dry. At least in July 2017.

This is directly above the Radnici Bridge so is ideal to include in a self-guided walk around town. Great swimming in the river below. In typical MG fashion there is no explanation about the origins of this fortress. Previous reviews very helpful. Not much here but you can get a feeling amongst the parked cars and rubbish bins how the Turks round have controlled the Moraca River from this site. Take a walk through the neighbouring residential streets to see how the locals really live.

I visited here as part of a tour and it was picturesque to wander through and I imagine somewhere locals come for somewhere to read or have a walk. Maybe not the best if not great on your feet but worth a wander through.

You can get some good photos here by the river as well, particularly of the old bridge, but also of the extant walls of the fortress.

These are the small, limited ruins of the small fortress at the confluence of the Moraca River and the small stream Ribnica. It is mostly a park with pleasant vegetation, small limited stone ruins, some modern terraces along the river, the small, typically Ottoman Stari Most. It affords nice views of the modern large Blazo Jovanovic Bridge, above, both at day and at night, when that bridge is lighted up. It offers access to the cold river where youths seem to hang out for various activities. It is an easy walk to it from the main street across the bridge near parliament, and one can walk through it between there and the small Old Town, making for a pleasant stroll.

The mouth of the river Ribnica in Moraca is almost in the center of Podgorica. Nice place to get away from the city crowd.
