This museum is located in one of the most beautiful buildings of Perast, the Bujovic Palace. A magnificent 18th century palace with an imposing porch consisting of five arcades and beautiful terraces with stone balusters is one of the most beautiful baroque edifices on the Adriatic Coast. Numerous exhibits, documents and paintings presented in several exhibitions are witnesses of the tumultuous and rich history of Perast, from its establishment through the rule of the Republic of Venice to the rule of France and Austria-Hungary in the area.

I enjoy the architecture of old buildings, but have to admit to being underwhelmed by most museums. So, having set my context, I would say that the place is worth visiting to see Perast from a raised elevation, but the content left me cold. I...More

Interesting artifacts from this little city's thousand years of history. We really enjoyed the maps from the 15- and 1600s, as well as information about the maritime history. It's small, but worth the visit.

Lovely little naval museum in a beautiful building in the town. A good collection of things to see and pretty cheap at 2.5 euro. Perast is such a small place all attractions are doable in a short period of time.

This museum is housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in Perast. Its exterior has wonderful stone carving and a long, beautiful balcony. The collection does not quite live up to the architecture but it is a solid provincial museum. The museum is devoted...More

Lovely museum (both the building and collection). However, found it was a bit of a shame not to have more explanations (and the book(let)s were around 20€...). A shame because the items were great and nicely displayed. Stunning building and location, worth a visit only...More

The museum is interesting but needs.more reading material to actually give the history of perast and the surrounding area. Only 2.50 euros each so you might as well pay a visit and have a look about
