Came by kayak which I highly recommend! Great views from the island, not much else to see but it's nice and empty compared to the lady of the rocks.

Unlike "Our Lady of the Rocks", the Island of Saint George is a natural island.
It contains the Saint George Benedictine monastery (12th century) and an old graveyard.
It is told that it has been an inspiration for the painting "Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böcklin.

If you are going to our Lady of the Rock, you'll take the boat by the island. The tour guide will tell you the tale of the island, and it's cyprus trees and the couple buried on the island. Good story

As all should know you can not go ashore on this island. So one just has to enjoy the views and let your imagination loose with some of it's history. Sveti Djordje is rising from a natural reef. It houses a Benedictine monastery shaded by cypresses and a large cemetery, earning it the local nickname 'Island of the Dead'.

The island is also called “The island of the dead captains”, because according to another legend one French soldier, by shooting a cannon towards Perast hit the house of his beloved girl and killed her. That legend is said to be a motive for the master piece “The Island of the Dead” by the painter Beklin.

as no public access to this Monastery.
A cute Ying & Yang with the other island & these both are postcard / travel brochure type images you have to take home to impress friends.

You pass this island which was once the burial ground for Perast residents but is now a monastery. The building is quite imposing.

Hard to review this, you are not really allowed on the island but a tour to Our Lady of the Rocks will fill you in on its history. It is a working monastery and as I understood, visits are by invitation only,

On our short boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, we past by this little island next to it but no visitors were allowed to visit or disembark there. We were told the island was not opened to public and was a church for private usage.

From a distance, it looked nice, serene and tranquil though a little "secretive". Both islands were lovely and each is unique and lovely in its own way. So make sure you can zoom in on it when you are on the Rocks or during the boat ride when the boatman could steer nearer to it where you will be able to snap some nice pictures of it!

I asked my boatman why this island is not opened to the public to tourists. it appeared that he does not speak English so I just took pictures of this island as we slowed down to dock at the Our Lady of the Rocks.

Took more pictures of this attraction after we got out of the boat.
