This was the first monastery of the three I saw in Fruška Gora, and in my opinion it was the best. It is in an isolated wood, far from the main roads. The surroundings are beautiful: there is an artificial waterfall with a magnificent gazebo, table and benches, all made of wood, and a sort of open chapel at the top. The church inside the monastery is quiet, intimate, and beautifully painted with frescoes. The dominant colour is a post-twilight-sky blue, which I really loved. The monks and nuns in the small store are exquisite and can tell a lot of stories (if you can understand a bit of serbian). Definetly worth a visit.
Just pay attention: in the near village our car was surrounded by barking (and, I would say, angry) dogs.

Surroundings of the monastery are really beautiful, there are benches and carious sitting areas nearby. Really peaceful and quiet.

Thought to be dated from the early 14th century, Velika Remeta Monastery is just off the road that heads down to Sremski Karlovci.

There is no entry fee and very little information in English is available, but the paintings covering the inside walls of the chapel look to have been recently restored and are vibrant in colour.

The external grounds are lovely with a pretty man-made waterfall and some old farm huts near the entrance gates that are worth exploring.

There is a good gift store with inexpensive English language books available as well as other Serbian Orthodox religious souvenirs.

Like all other monasteries of Fruska Gora, this is an oases of peace. Quiet, clean, healing place. Very beautiful icon of the Theotokos.

Fruska Gora is a tranquil hill not far away from Belgrade. It is a National Park from 1960,and traditional destination for one day
excursion.
Fruska Gora is also historical cultural and religious importance in Serbia , with 17 monasteries in region,a number of great and important people from Serbian history were educated or found
refuge in those monasteries.
Ravanica Monastery is famous for its preserved Orthodox relics
from 13th century .
In the central part of Fruska Gora are a number of ancient and beautiful monasteries : Hopovo,Remeta ,Krusedol...
Those monasteries were built mostly in 15th and 16th centuries.
Very nice and spiritual one day trip.
