Built in 1832 the palace today is the city hall of Iasi and it is not open for visitor - like in Vienna or Budapest or any other major city in the world outside of Romania - like everywhere in RO... for the time being I don't know any city hall that you can visit ... except if you have a friend who has a friend who knows somebody ...
The building served as a private residence for decades - a home to culture , where G. Enescu was playing and M. Eminescu was presenting his new poems.
So when you are walking in the area, you can stop for a few pics in front of this beautiful building.

Compared to my first opinion, the situation has not really changed, except that the building has been completely renovated and the grounds redeveloped. The whole thing is pretty and symbolic of the renewal of Iasi. A beautiful facade well renovated with European funds but completely closed to the public and Romanian citizens.

A beautiful and neat building (the main) but tot enough accessible to ordinary tourists. Only if you know someone, or you have a relationship etc. specific Romanian... They are their mayor's office (mayor, councilors, employees) and not for the citizens / city .. not to have a parking place for visitors .. and please don't go to the toilet .. sorry ..

I like whomever designed this beautiful palace. Now a city hall and not open to the public.

The exterior is gorgeous and immaculate. Next to a block sized city park.

In the city center across the street from the huge church that it's impossible to miss you must visit also the Palace Roznovanu. Built by the same architect that also constructed the church next door, almost 250 years ago. It has a beautifull neoclassic style to it, with statutes, ornamental frescoes and baroque elements here and there. Also you can see a clay replica of one of the clay soldiers found in China, that was given by the Chinese gouverment in sign of friendship with the people of Iași.

This neoclassical Viennese-style palace and former royal residence nowadays serves as the City Hall of Iasi. Although access is restricted, you can admire this magnificent building anytime from the outside.

These days hosts the town city hall. It belonged to the Roznovanu family.
Unfortunately the guards don't really let you visit on the inside, though the outside it is still beautiful.
The best part is you you decide to take a visit in the area, on Stefanc cel Mare Boulevard, you can also visit the National Theater, the Metropolitan Cathedral etc.
