Kiltepan Viewpoint is 3km away from the Municipal Tourism Office.
Here you can enjoy the view of the sea of clouds at the top of the mountains and valleys during the beautiful sunrise. Depends on the weather, the view of the sea of clouds might not be perfect.
If you’ve watched the movie, “The Thing Called Tadhana” and need to move on from a heartbreak then this is a must-visit place in Sagada. Some tourists are screaming out their feelings like the unforgettable scene in the movie.
The best time to go here is before sunrise around 4 am to catch the sea of clouds.
While waiting for the sunrise, you can have breakfast in small restaurants located in Viewpoint. A must-try during your breakfast would be their Sagada coffee and mountain tea (my favorite!). Their champorado (hot chocolate porridge) and Arroz Caldo (Filipino porridge) are a must-try too!
You can buy some items here like a bag of Sagada coffee beans and mountain tea.

Although the place is crowded (yes, that's true ganun sya ka famous), We still get to enjoy the sunrise. I appreciated the view so much we stayed here until 8am. Btw, we were here around 5 am pa at nakakagulat yung dami ng tao but that's what it is. Ate champorado nearby and it is a must try! Just a tip, you can walk pababa to get a nicer view sa picture unlike sa taas na madaming tao.

Over crowded! Too many shops that ruined the serenity of the place. Nice view for the sunrise but dont expect a nice view without fighting for a nice spot to get a view.

PLACE: Breathtaking and I wanted to see this again someday.
PRICE: It's part of the tour package so I think It's worth it.
EXPERIENCE: One of the Best Sunrise of my life. I hope that when you visit Sagada a lot a time to go here and experience it yourself.
TIPS: You'll enjoy the jeepney top ride. You'll appreciate the view while the jeepney passes by the road and the locals who lives at the roadside will greet you good mornings with their warm waves. Schedule your visit from November to February for a better chance to see the sea of clouds. Please expect the place to be crowded since It's a popular tourist spot.

We went to Sagada to HIKE and experience adventure, so naturally we also decided to hike to Kiltepan Peak. For hikers who are used to hiking all-day, a 1-hour walk on a paved road is nothing. From the main intersection, it took us just under an hour non-stop to Kiltepan Road. It also feels very rewarding to trek to the peak, while others stare at you as you arrive with your headlights on, with a sense of accomplishment.
Some tips as already mentioned by other DIYer’s:
1) just follow Staunton road all the way for about 40 minutes, until you see a Petron Gas station on your left.
2) At the gas station turn left and continue up the dirt road for another 10-15 mins.
3) Near the top, take a right, and you’ll soon see the signs for Kiltepan Peak and Hinode Cafe.
On the way back, you enjoy the hike even more, as you can enjoy the view which you couldn’t previously see in the darkness. You’ll also be able to explore more of Sagada town.
One precaution though... on the way back there were lots of dogs running around after sunrise. A few of them get territorial if you approach their property. If you’re scared of growling dogs, definitely don’t do this solo.
And lastly, we we’re unlucky as there was no Sea of Clouds, but the rice terraces and valley below was still a beautiful view, plus we saved the cost of the van.

Hi everyone! Is Kiltepan doable by hiking? How to do it? Thanks!

Yes but I suggest you rent a vehicle or join other groups going there as it would be pitch dark walking before dawn and it will be a muddy, rough trail up there.
From Buscalan, where we can ride going to Mt. Kiltepan? Thanks in advance

Hi! Where in Baguio can we take a ride going to Kiltepan and how long is the travel? Thanks!

Baguio to Sagada ride takes 5-6hours. You will either have to stay the night before then catch the sunrise by getting to the hill at 4 am. Or you can take a night trip and be there at 4am if you have a car, which is not highly recommended because of the foggy highways.
Buses to Sagada are at DanGwa Station and at Slaughter compound.

You can either take baguio from victory pasay and cubao. Thats a longer route though. But at least you can do a side trip in baguio. From baguio tale the bus going to bontoc. Or you can go straight to banaue from espana manila via ohayami bus line. Then van to sagada. ;-)

The nearest would be the hanging coffins (ecotours). However, you would need to head to the tourism centre to engage one of the guides on standby there to go for the guided tour.
