We visited early evening as the Sun was setting and walked out on the sandbank to take photographs. It was reasonably clear of other tourists at this poiint but I can imagine it been overrun at certain times of the day, which would impact on your enjoyment.

Quite a few shacks on the beach for food and drink if you want to purchase any.

Not a lot else to do here.

Absolutely gorgeous! Loved Ometepe so much. The people are happy and welcoming and the island is majestic.

What a disappointment for us. Yes, it's true, you can take a picture with both volcanoes in it, but the beach was very dirty, so no very nice shots.

We were in the neighbourhood, so it was fine, but not really worth a detour.

Made a stop here on our Honeymoon trip to Ometepe! It was amazing to see water on both sides and you are walking right in the middle! Great pictures with views of the volcano in the background.

Punta Jesus Maria is a must visit destination when visiting Ometepe Island. It is the perfect place to come and watch the sun set. From this beach area you get spectacular views of both Volcano Concepcion and Volcano Maderas. We came here twice while staying in Moyogalpa and it is a few kilometres walk from the main part of town. It gets dark pretty quickly after sunset so we’d recommend driving or getting a tuk tuk there as there are no street lights once you get out of the main part of Moyogalpa.
There’s plenty of parking on site and there is a pretty garden area which is great for having picnics. On weekends it is a popular destination for locals and there’s a great party atmosphere. This is a great place to swim and there are bathrooms available on site.

This was a beautiful place to watch the sunset. It's a thin stretch of beach maybe 10 meters wide that extends out into the lake creating a division in the water. We stayed at La Punta Resort that is a five minute walk away. We only stayed one night but two nights would have been better in order to do more on the island.

Nice place, but not so different from the beaches in other places of ometepe imo. The bars around are at a good price. So many people come at sunset that takes out some part of the beauty.

Spectacular view of the volcano and a cute little beach. Nothing wow but definitely worth a quick pop-in.

The beach of Punta Jesus Maria offers the best sunset on the island of Ometepe. If you turn around you will also be met by lovely views of the volcano in which we also had the full moon in the field of view. Quite a sight! The beach has a restaurant that offers some food but not the most. The beach is quiet and is incredibly relaxing a perfect spot to visit at the end of the day after doing some more adventurous things around the island!
