What a wonderful time we had visiting this unique market. There is the vegetable section with the boys pushing the little carts of goods, the spice. Market with all the wonderful smells. The animal section that donkeys,sheep and cows is very interesting. Do not miss the pharmacies and pottery shops.

Great visit to Rissani. Every tuesday, thursday and sunday it's market day (all day long). Locals selling whatever they have, grow or produce. Chaos! The pleasant kind!

Try to stop here on market day when activity is at it's best. The market offers everything from nuts and spices to camels and donkeys. It's for locals, but that won't keep the sellers from trying to convince you to take one of their donkeys home with you. Just be aware that many of the sellers want to be your... More

I though this market was fantastic, yes it is a market for the locals so you will stick out but with some confidence and a smile you be fine. Rememeber to keep your valuables close as always. After the souks of Marrakech and Fes the covered souk of Rissani is small - but for real atmosphere of the sheep and goat and cattle market -with all the bargains solely made by local herders, this little market area, walled- in from the main dusty road through the town is a sight not to be missed.
