I booked a day-trip here through a travel vendor, which is recommended since it's about 3.5 hours outside of Fes. I would suggest heading out early in the morning, so you can enjoy the afternoon there and be on your way back to Fes (or other city) before dark. I only saw a few hotels during my walking tour, but... More

You never know what charming door you'll see next. Everyone living in medina seems pretty friendly and no one minded that I was taking lots of pictures. Be prepared for a workout...medina has a lot of ups and downs, mostly ups, so you'll be climbing a lot.

The medinas in Morocco that we have visited ( Tangier , Fes , Meknes , Marrakesh , Casablanca , Rabat ) have the common points of being busy , noisy and tourist oriented . The Medina in Chefchaouen is different : one does not feel pressure from the merchants and would be guides . Here people in the streets are... More

This Medina is by far the best Medina in all of Morocco. Unlike the Medina in Marrakesh the shop keepers in this medina leaves you be to either pass by or peruse their goods in your own time and give you space. They are polite and friendly, whether or not you are buying something or just inquiring.

Medina in Chefchaouene was a little bit different with the others, because you mingled altogether with the local people. It’s very interesting and it made its own unique experience for tourists. So authentic, that is why I fell in love with this small blue city. Follow the pace, take your time, enjoy the scenery, it will bring the warm feelings... More

Stroll through medina the without being harassed… much. Specialties here include hand knitted items, design your own leather, homemade soaps and lotions. Of course, there is plenty of selection of imported items you can find anywhere. Be sure to bargain on the price.

Just adored wandering these alleyways and streets. Be prepared to have your socks knocked off with its beauty. The blue is crazy gorgeous and no filter is needed in photographs. The median itself is much calmer and softer than Marrakech or Rabat and just walking is a delight.
