The Park is a must together with children ! It's very safe, outside of the beach the sea is secured by nets! Lots of tropical beautiful fishes an corals in all colours :) Remember sun protection, water and check prices for snorkling equipment or bring your own.

Really lots and lots of fish but almost all corals were dead. It was rather sad look. We enjoyed it due to great water and really a huge amount of fish, octopuses and turtles, but only imagine how great it would look if the corals were alive.

A very beautiful place with lots of colorful fish to see. however, its all vanishing as the reefs are dying. We could see a lot of dead coral. It gets too crowded with tourists during the day. Unfortunately many of them are not concerned about protecting nature.

A place of sanctuary for fish and soft coeal alike. This place is quite a beauty and hopefully the state government will do more to facelift this already beautiful place

There is a protected area left of the Jetty because EVERYTHING is dead over there. In the other areas snorkeling is allowed but the fish that are left are being fed by tourists. They whole beach is littered with plastic. At one point a grabbed a plastic bag and it took me no more than 3 minutes to fill it with trash! I collected all of this trash IN the water. Water was clear and islands looks nice though. Don't go there because it's not worth your time and money. Very few fish and dead corals. Only gray colors under water.

Basically is given us a time to snorkeling around the park, looking for Coral ? Fish ? and we saw eel.
Btw, i would like to say that Fish are lesser and Coral probably are died.
Still can take it as a relief place then.

I opted for 2 hrs Marine Park Tour offered by Redang Island Resort. We started at 2:30 from Village jetty and it was a 10 mins boat ride to marine park. We did not plan snorkelling and spent time mostly near the beachside hammocks. Powdery sand and brilliant turquoise water of multiple shades captivates eye. Time well spent.

I'm not sure why do we even go to this place from hotel. It's the same as snorkeling at the front of the beach. No much fish and all coral dead. No one seems to take care of the place and the toilet is dirty.

Come here for the fish but not the coral, because 90% of the coral is damaged. There was extremely bad weather with very strong waves at the end of last year which caused terrible damage to the coral garden here, several years ago, the coral garden was still in good shape. Now, the authorities have cordoned off a large area of this marine park in hope that the coral will rejuvenate. But this will take many years to happen. This is a sad thing.

Not as such in the marine park, but you may be able to have photographs taken by a photographer at your resort. Laguna Redang definitely offers this service. I just used my own Go Pro with a waterproof housing.

Hi. I intend to bring my family of 6. Are there water sports (jet skii, parasailing, banana boat)? Island tour? Need to keep my kids occupied.

My reply is late, but for future travellers no there are not these kind of activities as Redang is in a protected area. There are trips to various snorkelling and diving spots, the turtle sanctuary, day trips to Lang Tengah etc.

How to you get here from Kuala Trengannu
Marnova

Sorry for the late reply, but the boat doesn't go from Merang but Shahbandar jetty which is just a few minutes from the market. If you are staying in a resort they will organise a transfer from the airport direct as well as your ferry ticket. Resorts such as Laguna organise their own boats, otherwise you can take a taxi to the jetty. There are public ferry services. During peak season, I believe these leave morning and afternoon. If you get in during the evening, you will need to make other arrangements or stay in one of the hotels nearby (there are plenty...KT centre is not big)

Hi Heena Y. to go to Redang Island, you need to depart from Shahbandar Jetty in Kuala Terengganu. You can either purchase a ticket at the counter as early as 8.00-9.00 am (if i'm not mistaken). If you buy a package from any travel agent, sometimes it also provide return boat ticket.

You have options to go from Shahbandar Jetty and Marang Jetty . Prefer to go by Shahbandar jetty as the fare is RM5 per person. Don't think to go by small boat as the sea sometimes is rough, always take big boat which is safe
