Walked around noon time from the city center to Coco Cabana (+/- 4 km). Upon arrival everything was closed. The access to the top of
‘seahorse statue/lighthouse’ was closed as well. The sea views are stunning

This area is a reclaimed spit of land. There is a bar-restaurant (with a beautiful woodwork decor), marina, some food shacks, tables and chairs facing the sea, and a landmark seahorse lighthouse. It seems popular with the locals and is a nice spot to sit and chill. I was there only for the seahorse lighthouse, which unfortunately was closed when I visited, but still looks nice from the outside.

This is definitely a good place to hangout and unwind after a long day. Plenty of food and drinks option. Love the boardwalk, and peaceful environment at night.

During the day this place seem lifeless.. however evening it becomes alive with people working-out, hanging out and just enjoying the food. Also good if you want to rent the bikes (2 rider, 4 rider) and just go for a stroll.

Must go place to see sunset. We reached just in time to catch sunset. Since we visited during Ramadan all the shops and eateries were closed. But still it is a nice place to visit.

From our hotel at the water front to Coco Cabana, it’s 2.9 km away. There is a proper walkway from our hotel to this place. Initially we thought of taking a leisure walk there. But then we wouldn’t want to miss the sunset. So we took a grab car there. The sea breeze hit me the moment I stepped out of the car. Wow, it was really relaxing here. There were already a lot of people waiting for the sun to sink. This place is also not short of activities for visitors. You can go cycling with your family or love ones, both adults and children. There’s also a beautifully lighted children’s playground. Entrance fee is RM 5.00. There are stalls selling local food and delights. This place is also ideal for visitors to take scenic pictures. Of course many people would not miss taking photo with the iconic mascot seahorse of Miri. For your information, the Borneo Jazz Festival 2019 was held at this place. Jazz musicians from countries like USA, Italy, Mexico, Austria and Japan performed at this festival. It’s definitely a nice place to chill out as there are restaurants and café overlooking the sea front. We were glad that we managed to catch the sunset glory! We stayed on for about an hour to enjoy the sea breeze before we left.

We visited Coco Cabana during the Borneo Jazz Festival. The set of 5 beers is reasonably prized but a glass of low quality Two Oceans red wine was prized at RM 30.00. I understand that the prizing during special events can be higher but the quantity served in a plastic cup is definitely a rip off.
The staff was quite rude and indifferent about it.
We were a party of 4 and spent quite a bit on drinks and would have happily spent more on wine if it was not for the ridiculous servings.
There was also no control of people bringing in their own pre-mixed beverages in back packs and bags and taking up premium seats at the front of the stage.
We found much better service at CocoLicous "the Shack" just at the ramp up to Coco Cabana. Very courteous staff and friendly owner. Similar pricing but proper serving size and better atmosphere.
Will avoid Sunset Bar located within Coco Cabana in future and go to CocoLicous I stead.

Coco Cabana at Marina Bay Par has a nice view of the beach which I am expecting to boost one of the best sunset in Miri. We were here during noon which was Super hot but luckily there were stores selling cold drinks and beer as well as plenty of choices for beachside dining. Miri’s Seahorse Lighthouse is located here. 4 seater bikes (leg powered) or battery operated tricycles are available for rent (I got a battery operated one for RM35 for 30mins) which you can ride around the park. Something to do if you have nothing else to do. Nice place for photography and wedding pictures.
