This village exemplifies man made cliff dwellings which are still inhabited. The troglodyte homes, excavated inside volcanic rocks and tuffs similar to dwellings in the Turkish region of Cappadocia, are locally called "Karaan". recently built a hotel in the village . The Hotel name is Laleh. Experience living in a luxurious cave could be interesting for many of people.

We stayed there for 2 days (Jan/17') and had an amazing experience of a trip to a small village in Iran during the winter time. It was snowing and the village was sort of empty which was a nice thing to us to wander around and enjoy the quietness and village life. We bought some herbs and teas (the cheapest... More

This is a historical place and can be very attractive for the tourists, but its facilities such as proper restaurants, shops or hotels and other must be improved specially for tourists from other countries. Also, there is an amazing nature near to this region such as villages, "sultan" mountain and a river passing through the village that can be visited... More

Really reccomend you to book a room at the cave hotel. Amazing place and a "must" to see if only for a daytrip like I had.

If you have been to Cappadocia, you MIGHT not be impressed by this - solely because this is on a much smaller scale. But if you want a fraction of tourist, then yes this is a better option. Unknowingly I went on the day someone form the village passed away, and I was stranded with no shops opened (except the... More
