Sebangau is a National Park, located in Central Kalimantan, near Palangkaraya. This National Park is one of the last remaining peat swamp forests in Borneo. The vast national park covering approximately 568,700 hectare is home to over 6,000 orangutans, forming one of the world’s largest populations in the wild.

I visit the Sebangau National Park last Mai 2019. Its amazing place, I love the black water and reflect to the plant. Even the plant was awesome.
I think this place is cool for adventure. I want to come back once again.

This park has more of a rehabilitation feel too it. More canals and rehab locations than I expected. But it has Orangutans and beautiful views. Easier to get to than Tanjung Puting.

This place was settle for local and domestic tourist who decide to have a holiday with bit "mass tourism" experience. They provide selfie spot on the boat with some man made flowers as background. But once you go living in with locals there is some good experience with fisherman and orang utan

We spent two nights at the rangers station in the Koran River in the Sebangau National Park, which is a very basic equipment surrounded by nature in the limit of the forest. We saw a wild orangutan from the boat during our transport to the rangers station and enjoyed nice walks in the jungle. A very different experience from the Tanjung Puting N.P. Top recommendable (despite that sweet sticky odour characteristic of the peat swamp that you will still smell in your clothes after a week).

We spent 4 days sailing up and down the river, coming across lots of proboscis, orang utan at the feeding platforms, a reasonable amount of birds and beautiful landscapes

They have "wisata susur sungai". When i go there, they provide "sampan" with the driver cost IDR 500.000.- for all day up to you. If you want rent the "bebek" it cost IDR 150.000.- but i take the cheapest one "rakit" that only cost IDR 10.000.- per people but that was one fortunate case cause many peope want to ride it by the time i was there. So, i can ride it with small cash, interesting place to go when visiting Palangkaraya. Best choice to see the sky full of cloud. It was beautiful

Went for a two-hour hike in the Sebangau National Park today. Both the hike and the boat tour to the park were absolutely amazing! Saw some monkeys (no orangutan unfortunately...), birds and lizards. I would definitely recommend anybody staying in Palangkaraya to visit this nature reserve.

Had a great trek through the peat forest. Waded thigh deep into the water, but it was a great and unforgettable experience. Arm yourselves with plenty of insect repellent!!

My office friends and I went to Sebangau National Park last year. To get there, we took a boat ride through river Koran. The river is unique because the color is dark. However, our boat driver told us that the water is drinkable.

After like 45 minutes taking the boat ride, we reached there. We took a short track since we had very limited time. We couldn't encounter any orangutans, but we were satisfied enough.
