I spent 3 full days in Vung Tau, travelling around on a rented push bike.....a great way to see this coastal city. One place I visited was Hon Ba Island. Well I was not able to walk over to the island but view from a distance. Nice to see from the long stretching main beach.

It was high tide when we were there so not possible to get on the island. Looked interesting enough though. Kind of reminded me of the Battery Point Light house in Crescent City, California. Same idea, you can walk across during low tide. Would have been interesting to go over and see the temple.

Located right on the corner of front/back beach. Time your walk out carefully or you'll be stranded when the tide comes in. Wear a robust pair of footwear.

We walked along the beach and then across the causeway to the island. Its a rocky walk, but we didnt mind that - in fact my husband and i quite enjoyed the walk; our kids were a little less impressed with having to go! Whether or not the walk is worth the bother, is another question. There's really nothing much... More

Short walk from Vung Tau Statue.. rough walk up here. The scenery is beautiful tough. It's a little island and from here can see the peak of Christ redeemer.

You can walk out to Hon Ba during low tide, but also make sure you return during low tide. It's a pretty tough walk, even though it's not that long a a trek. We took a taxi from the hotel and he dropped us off on the Ha Long street and we had to walk down the hillside to the... More

If you can get across at the right time of day, it is beautiful to see! You have a different view of Vung Tau, get to see a little island pagoda and walk across a million seashells to get there! Went with a friend and had great cool breezes, which are so welcome here!!!!
