The water is clean and transparent under the river. The boat driver is very friendly, she even paddled slowly for me to take pictures.
Sitting on the boat too long makes me sleepy, to be honest.
But i know that they avoid canoes for environmental protection, can't be helped.

Well worth doing, as over 10,000 people have testified and reviewed. The scenery and experience they offer here is globally unique. It really is one of Vietnam's best natural and cultural treasures. Unfortunately, like many places in this beautiful country, they have a little work to do with aggressively policing litter-bugs. Ice-cream sticks and cigarettes floating in the water are easy to fix with 1,000,000 VND fines for those caught contributing. But this hasn't yet happened.

Also, the fact that they practically build this experience on the backs of slave laborers is a major mood-damper. The elderly little ladies who spend 3 hours at a stretch rowing boatloads of fat, foreigners (present company included) around are hearty souls. But with no legal tipping system and probably very minimal compensation (no disclosure anywhere of their salary), this will be a major turn-off to socially ethics-conscious tourists who wish to enjoy the area without exploiting a veritable slave culture.

Pro traveler tip: Visit in the Spring season, if possible, before the Caves become steamy and sauna-like. By mid-summer to autumn, it becomes unpleasant to be in them.

Worth of visiting when you like nature and beautiful scenary. I really mean that. But expect that there might be a long queue. Me and other people from our tour were stucked in one for one hour and a half. The worst part is before you get into the lined queues devided by iron mantinels. But after we survived queueing, we enjoyed one hour and a half in the boats. We tried to row by ourselves, took a lot of great pictures, and enjoyed the beautiful view.

A recently opened to public attraction in Ninh Binh.
A short hike of 2000+ steps up to the peak, good view.
Didn't take the boat rides as we already taken a similar one at Trang An.
Worth a visit, free to enter excluding the boat ride.

Many Vietnamese tourists. Take a 3-hour boat ride on the river and into the caves. At the end, there is Tran Temple, which is said to be very sacred. It will be very crowded if you go at the end of the week and the beginning of the year
