Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge
Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge ( Cau di bo Ben Ninh Kieu) is often mistaken as the Can Tho bridge. While both these bridges, are located in the city of Can Tho, the Ninh Kieu Pedestrian bridge, as the name suggest, is a walking bridge, and is about 200 meters long over the Cai Khe Canal. No vehicles are allowed on it. On the other hand, the Can Tho bridge is a massive multi kilometre, heavy vehicle bridge over the Hau River, connecting the city of Can Tho to Vinh Long.
The Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge is easily recognisable as a curved S shaped bridge. The bridge and the surrounding areas and buildings are lighted up at night and looks spectacular. As it was drizzling, we took shelter under the lotus roofed structure, in the centre of the bridge. There are two such roofed structures on the bridge. On the other side of the walking bridge, is the Cai Khe Islet, with an illuminated walkway with a number of seafood eateries, and hotels including the Victoria Can Tho Resort.
The wharf for the Big Boat Dinner Cruise is located nearby here.
When visiting Can Tho, a trip here at night is a must.

Inaugurated and used since February 6, 2016, Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge has attracted the attention of residents and visitors. The pedestrian bridge was put into operation on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and received positive feedback from the people and visitors. It is estimated that every day, more than 5,000 visitors come to visit and enjoy walking, crossing the bridge, taking souvenir photos in the shimmering lights as well as enjoying the cool breeze from the Hau river. This is the first pedestrian bridge in the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta) built modernly by semi-permanent reinforced concrete with a cost of VND 49.6 billion. The bridge is 199 meters long, 7.2 meters wide, S-shaped curving. The bridge has two extensions built with two lotus stations and sheltered foot rests with lighting systems using the color-led script. Use solar energy. The work is a highlight of the landscape between the city, a new tourism product to serve the walking needs of the local people, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to contribute to the premise of making Can Tho city more and more develope.

Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge ( Cầu đi bộ Bến Ninh Kiều) connects Ninh Kieu wharf and Cai Khe Islet. The bridge measures 199 metres long and is 7.2 metres wide. It is a curved S letter-shaped structure, constructed in concrete and metal.
Wednesday evening 9th January we walked across the bridge we were going to Cai Khe Islet to pick up our boat for the Victoria Boat - River Night Cruise.
The bridge looked really spectacular which was illuminated with morphing lights across the bridge. The main focus was the two large metal lotus flowers (National flower of Vietnam) which were lit up by an array of coloured lights. From a distance it appeared like a funfair
As part of the cruise we did sail under the bridge. It was easy to see from a distance but was quite a sight to sail under.
