This is one of the most beautiful place on Earth! It is overwhelming... the payment for the pictures are a little bit expensive, and could be more cheap.

This is perhaps one of the most prestigious and well known madrasahs in the world. Graduates from this madrasah are in leadership positions in more than 10 different countries.

One of the buildings of the main square ensemble. We didn't go inside, just took a walk inside the courtyard, as there are apparently scholars at study in this one. It's less busy in the evenings.

Here you find - beside the many monument medrasas - one with real scholars, it is not open to the public in general but you can catch glimpses and have a chat with one or the other scholar about today's Medrasa life.

Working madrasah, not just for show. However those two turquoise tower tops make a wonderful photo opportunity. You don't go in, but you can walk around in the courtyard and sit under the mulberry tree.

This Medressa is one of the few that allow both male and female students. You really can't go inside because the students are there. Some even live at the Medressa

Another of the beautiful buildings in Bukhara and we were lucky to see this madressa in the day and night. It was the backdrop for the finale of the Silk and Spice festival and we were lucky enough to get tickets. What a spectacle! Song...More
