It is more alive than Pol Kaylon square, certainly more popular with locals, and especially sweet at night. Nice madrassas around it. And superb fabric shop.

We landed up for a change from Minfiza and Mavrigi. Our seating was outdoors near the Hauz(Pond) with a view of a stage where the local band was playing and people dancing. Gave it a nice festive air. The food was good, the only reason for three Stars was the service, in which we probably got overshadowed by some VIP who was demanding continuous attention.

This is tourist centre of Bukhara and just moments from the front door of our lovely Fatima Hotel Boutique. Great for a wander around, so many shops, restaurants and cafes within a small area and a relaxing ambiance if you want to just sit and watch the world go by.

The heart and happening area of Bukhara old town. From afternoon till late night the atmosphere of this area is magnificent. The surrounding area centering a pond (water body) with fountain has lot food options, nice seating arrangement, trading domes, hotels, madrasahs.

Lyabi-Khauz is formed with three large monumental buildings: Kukeldash Madrasah in the north, khanaka and Nodir Divan-begi in the west and in the east. The center of this old Bukhara area is a large pond.

An artificial 17-century Hauz, or pool where visitors to the city could bathe. Surrounded by restaurants and by beautiful medieval madrasahs. The centre of the Old Town.

Conveniently located near the old town, many hotels, and most of the sights of Bukhara. There was an impressive congregation of birds here each evening. The history of the pool was also quite interesting.

A very vibrant and lively place with a lot of hustle and bustle around it. Hauz- a small reservoir looks very nice at night with a lot of crowd in the restaurant. Food options were many, and taste was also good, barring the chicken dish. Outdoor seating is highly recommended, both during the day and night.

The Lyabi Hauzs is one of the many pools originally built in Bukhara to allow weary, dusty merchants arriving with their camels from the desert and the Silk Road to wash and cleanse themselves.
Most of these pools were filled in centuries ago due to water borne diseases like cholera but the Lyabi Hausz remains and is now one-off the nicest, trendiest places to relax in Bukhara
It is flanked by cafes and eateries and its a lovely place to sit and relax. There's a nice park at one end and there are two beautiful medressas.
The street on one side is lined with artisan shops, restaurants, diuvenir shops and boutiques.
So much life and energy, yet such a relaxing place too.
