A good autochthonous attraction

Our visit was on a cloudy autumn day as part of a tour and we were well surprised about the variety of species there. It is perfect for families.

Super nice people, friendly and helpful. The Zoo is rustic which is part of it's charm. There are several hiking paths that take you to different areas with animals. The Leopards are incredible. The Puma looks super powerful.

It is so sad the conditions of the birds and other animals there. It needs more attention, more care. The park for kids on the other hand is ok, also if you plan a picnic in family.

Lovely property. A good walk and for hikers, there is that option, also. Of course, you have to believe these animals need protection and thus being caged is for their own good. But it is hard to see large, elegant animals like owls and puma with absolutely no room to fly or run. Doubly upsetting to see people calling at... More

Some of the animals are in really small cages without any activities. You can see all the animals on a slow 1h walk through the reserva. There's a small cafe where you can buy snacks and drinks. We did not walk on top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, so cannot tell anything about that.

It is a well run reserve, just average in terms of how it is laid out. But of course it has quite a number of Uruguayan wildlife species, and a good place to see it all in one. It was a bit run down when I was there it might have changed for the better or maybe not...
