Description:

Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta....

Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

This place has done an amazing job taking care of the animals in Koh Lanta. It's obvious throughout the island that the dogs and cats of Lanta are in better shape than in other places you'll visit in Thailand. Get there between 9-11 or 3-5 if you want to walk a dog or otherwise just go and pet the puppies... More

Amazing project being run by a team of superheroes that give their time while on holiday to help neglected and injured animals. If you're in Koh Lanta, you must take the time to visit!

I visited this amazing place today, they are doing a wonderful job of reducing the amount of cats and dogs born around Lanta through sterilisation. They have so many rescued animals that they are rehomings all over the world. Very impressed, fantastic group of volunteers who are passionate about their work. It's definitely worth a visit.

This was hands down my favourite part of Ko Lanta. The work these guys do is amazing and leaves you with a real high. We spent the majority of the morning playing with Kiwi (the kitten) and Romeo (the puppy) before taking an elderly dog, Wayne for a quick walk. Well done guys, you've created something quite special. We'll be... More

As animal lovers, this place was a must go to hear about a Swede who saw the sad state of the dogs and cats in Thailand and created the welfare center to address the population and care of the needy. The tour was quite packed but we managed to hear how the center began, volunteers who run the place, behind... More

We came to visit Lanta animal welfare to get our fix of furry friends. We took a tour around the facility and was told lovely stories of adoptions and about the dogs. It took about an hour in total. Afterwards we cuddled some kittens and puppies!! We enquired about future adoption and now have it set in our hearts that... More
