Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to rehabilitate suffering and sick animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm and our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the center every hour, on the hour, between 10am and 4pm. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! (Please note there is generally no dogwalking between 11-3 as it gets too hot for them!). The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Walked a dog called Lenard today - lovely little dog he was too! Also spent some time with the pups and ventured into Kitty City. If you are staying in Koh Lanta and you like animals then you must visit this place!

Great place for rescued animals and a very informative tour on why the centre was set up and what they do to rescue the cats and dogs on the island. There should be more places like this around Thailand.

My boys, 10 and 8, were missing their dog, and a morning at LAW helped them with some much needed fur time. The new cat center is impressive, and we were impressed with the number of animals they've sterilized on the island. Kudos to all...More

Went here to see the volunteer work. Went for a tour and saw dogs and cats in their ”shelters”. It was midday so dogs were already taken to walk. Short tour, important work. Was a bit more compact what I thought.

Super clean and professional place. Went with a 15 month baby who loved playing with all the nice cats.

They give a free tour and afterwards you can socialize with the dogs/cats or walk the dogs. You can see the effort they put in for the animals. Donating is not obliged.
