Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to rehabilitate suffering and sick animals on the island through sterilisation and care.

We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm and our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the center every hour, on the hour, between 10am and 4pm. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! (Please note there is generally no dogwalking between 11-3 as it gets too hot for them!).

The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Was pretty amazing to go there and get the tour. Amazing volunteers and after having seen countless stray dogs and cats in my time in Thailand, was awesome to see that there is people out there making a difference. Makes me wish I knew a place like this existed years ago and could have come and volunteered long term before... More

The volunteers that work here showed us around so we could see how they work and how the center works. The cats and dogs are so well taken care of. The visit really touched my heart ❤

This is a nice place to visit for several reasons. You can go and take a dog or two for a walk. Or as we did, come and pet and cuddle with puppies and kittens, so adorable! I would also encourage you to sponsor them and their work in some way, sponsorship or buy something in the store or simply... More

My boyfriend and I visited the centre today and it was amazing! They have done and are doing so much for the cats and dogs and the island. You can volunteer to walk the dogs, have a tour of the centre and play with the puppies and kittens! I would recommend to go around 9am to beat the heat.

Personally I am not an animal lover but my kids loved to pet the kittens and puppies. They have done a lot to solve the stray problem on the island, but it is a a very foreigner -run enterprise. I think it's fine to ship pets all over Europe but it all seemed a bit much. That said it was... More

Laura animal welfare center cares for the stray dogs and cats of Lanta (and around) If you drive around Lanta you will notice the strays that aren't always in the best condition. That's why these guys are so important. Don't forget your wallet and drop a contribution to the good cause. Or maybe adopt a pet ;)

I was fortunate enough to visit and take a tour around Lanta Animal Welfare whilst travelling in Koh Lanta. As an animal lover, it was an amazing experience to be able to witness first hand the amazing work that the centre provides for the animals on the island. The volunteers were enthusiastic, polite and very informative. So glad I had... More
