The buildings are closed, you are not able to see inside. Very little explanation of what the buildings were used for.

It was tremendously hot in the afternoon. Try to go early morning.

Absolutely beautiful. The buildings are lovely and set well apart on lakeside positions in serenely landscaped gardens. Unlike most of the sights we visited in South East Asia, the place was pretty quiet. Not a lot to see, but what there is is quite exquisite.

Went in February and paid the full entrance fee. Once inside everything was closed...pitty. We just had a nice walk in the park.

THB100 entrance fee (included in the tour price). Given an hour to walk around, but took about 45 mins since you can't enter any of the buildings, only get to walk around the outside. For those who are lazy to walk, you can also rent a buggy at THB400 per buggy per hr (for upto 4pax) to move around the premises.

46 acres of royal land, it has a Winter Palace of Swiss-inspired architecture. It was once burnt down so this was rebuilt in this style as the past King Rama 9 wanted to commemorate his growing up years with his brother in Switzerland.

Then there's the Summer Palace in Chinese architecture as it was constructed by the Chinese back then as their gift to the Thai King. Took them 20 years to build as the materials were shipped in bit by bit. The concubines and princesses have their own little houses just behind the Palace, along the perimeter.

There are guards at certain guard posts situated within the park and I happened to catch one of their change in shifts. When we entered, we were told photos were OK but videography was not allowed, so I was afraid to film a video of the guard shift change haha and sneaked a quick photo.

The entire palace is still a functional one, where the King does come and stay occasionally and when he does, it'll be closed to tourists. In general, a nice OOTD location but nothing spectacular since we are not allowed to enter the buildings but it's nice to know you are walking thru a real 皇室的后花园. Good thing I was there on the tour where the guide would share info about the Palace. Imagine if I was there on my own, it would have been a literal walk-in-the-park without understanding all these buildings and their significance.

The last time we visited Bang Pa-In Palace was 22 years ago. This time we were back with children and it is good to see this is still an excellent visit. Bang Pa-In Palace is the summer palace for the king with an interesting history, a very peaceful environment and an interesting mix of building styles. Dominated by European and Chinese style buildings, a guided tour provides an interesting insight into Thai history. Take the buggy ride (take your driving license) and do feed the fish and turtles. This provides a completely different setting to the centre of Bangkok but is very satisfying.

The palace is beautiful but aside from that there is nothing much to see here. You may skip this to get more time visiting the different temples in Ayutthaya.

Walking around the beautiful gardens and paying respects to Queen Sunandha, who sadly drowned with her daughter and unborn child...very sad. The grounds were serenity at its best. Stunning place to visit and I would highly recommend visiting this summer palace of the Thai Royal family.

We visited the Summer Palace as part of a small group tour from Bangkok. Our tour guide walked with us for a short while providing some information about the palace. Then we were allowed just a little bit of time to explore on our own. Our tour also included the many temples in the area. It would have been nice to have just a little bit more time at this location. The grounds are lovely and there is shade. We visited the temples in the afternoon which was very hot because there was very little shade. It may have been a good idea to visit the temples in the morning and the summer palace in the afternoon.

Lovely Palace and grounds. Well worth a visit. You can hire a golf buggy to get around but it would be easy to walk around it. Toilets, shop and cafe.

It is a beautiful palace and very big! I rent a golf cart to move around which cost 200baht an hour. And a driving licence is needed to rent.
