This is the place which is just 18 kms from Srilankan border. The colour of sea here is blue which is just a breathtaking view.Full of rocks and very crowded.
To take a bath is sea you have to climb down from rocks which senior citizen cant do.
Ram sethu is now mostly under water due to successive tsunamis of 1964 and 2004 but still you can see in middle of ocean sand formation is there which shows how old is our Hindu culture and religion.
You have to reach here before 12 pm or cops might not allow you to enter citing high tides but the realty is touts ask to pay rs 2000 per car to allow to go.The place is very different from any other coastal belts in India.Very less people inhabit there mostly fishermen.
The ocean has a strange energy here and you can feel the same.
You can go deep in the ocean as the sand bed is shallow but be careful. The waves are also differently formed here which gives you a hint a divine intervention is in play.Jai Sri Ram...

Amazing sunrise at Dhanush kodi.
Mar 2021 • Friends
We had visited as part of our southern sojourn trip from Isha.
It's a great place to have a view of sunrise here. Better be here at 6am in the morning, sunrise happens around 6:15 am. The sanagam of 2 oceans happen here !! which is the bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Both are of different colours and when they join they are of great view to watch!! . The sand of this beach is just so soft like a face Powder!!.

But a great to enjoy the morning with friends and family.

Thanks
Sharath

A 'MUST SEE' LOCATION
Jan 2021 • Family
It's my long term dream to pay a visit to Dhanushkodi. The long awaited dream has become a cherishing one. The journey towards the point is a memorable one where there is sea on both sides of the road. It can be considered as one of the rarest journeys as the vast expanse of the Bay of Bengal can be seen on either side of the road which is a great feast to our eyes. There is road connectivity till the end. The beach point has a splendid view of the Bay of Bengal.

Amazing landscape.. A must visit

A breathtaking drive... Beautiful drive covered with endless water bodies on both sides. To the left side is dual colored waters of Bay of Bengal and to the right side is 3rd largest ocean on the planet the Indian Ocean. The confluence of both these water bodies happens at ARUCHAL MUNAI the dead end of the island city Rameshwaram.

Tourists are allowed only till 5pm in evening. There after the local police asks everyone to empty the entire area.

I have to talked to Superitendent of TN police and another IPS officer to get special permission to visit Danukshakodi as it was closed due to covid 19 situation.

The location is blissful with blue sea all around.

Dhanushkodi when translated means "end of the bow". The site of confluence of blue and green waters of the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal is absolutely breathtaking. It is connected with the original Indian mainland only by the Pamban Railway Bridge. The place has been reduced to ruins and mystic stories today due to a cyclone in 1964,which had the intensity to destroy the city.On a clear day,you can view the Srilankan coast from here.
Though, it is just 18-20 Kms from Rameshwaram, there are no restrooms or hotels here .Though vendors are aplenty selling cool masala cumbers and watermelons. Do carry umbrellas ,sunscreens and drinking water.
Loved the shoreline, blue sky and the confluence of two major seas. In route ,there were quaint and picturesque fishermen Hamlets..They had loads of shops selling some very good stuffmade of shells .

Seriously this place has something inside! As I crossed each spot, something was not ok. Till I came out of that place, I felt like being watched. The monument brought the hell out of me; when I saw people everyone was seem to be well known. I know that, my mind was playing games within me but couldn’t resist.

Historical and mythical site
Aug 2019
The historical context is that it is the site of one the worst natural disasters to occur in southern India prior to the 2004 Tsunami - the 1964 Cyclone which killed thousands of people and left this town a ghost town. The ruined buildings are the remnants of a once bustling town that was the launching point for the ferry to Sri Lanka. A whole train got washed into the sea here. The geographical significance is that it is the starting point of the mythical bridge to Sri Lanka that Lord Rama built. Other than that there is not much to see.
