If you like watching starts and the sky, you will want to visit here. You have to drive about 15 minutes from your town hotel to this place. Then leave your car at the main entrance. The walk from the main entrance to the solar museum in wonderful. There are plenty of conifers on both sides and you will not... More

We visited this place and learnt a lot about the Sun and stars. It was a great learning experience. The museum is very well maintained and full of information. The entire area is beautiful. Be wary of bisons, though.

This is so called Observatory, but its foggy most of time. Best time to visit if you really want to use the venue as observatory is noon time. We could use it for a good landscape and photography only as it was very foggy in morning.

It is good place to visit in morning when the sky is clear but generally in Kodaikanal it foggy and cloudy in monsoon months. Nice place to visit though it is not popular.

One of the best places in kodaikanal for learning experiences. Its a nice place to visit in kodaikanal for informative purposes. visit the place by morning when the sub is visible. Vehicles are not allowed inside so you have go by walk inside. The staff people are good and helpful in explaining about the details. Camera is prohibited.

Located just before all the other major touristy spots is this Observatory. I was not even aware of its existence during my 3 previous visits to Kodai. thankfully could visit this time around .We can reach this place after nearly a 1 Km walk from the main gates. Please note that they are very strict about letting in cameras and... More

The Solar Observatory is one of the lesser visited tourist spots in Kodaikanal. Plan your visit in the mornings between 10 and 12 and when the sky is clear and the sun is visible. Be prepared to walk over 1 Km to get to the museum from the main gate as vehicles are not allowed inside.

A must for those who visit kodaikanal. The tour operators avoid this one and the natural history museum because they dont get commission. We can see the black spots on the sun live here.
