We went to the place with very less expectation as we had enough time with us. Its not that popular and not at all crowded. Small caves but an excellent location.

Once a site inhabited by the ealiest known tribes who lived here the Paliyans the caves are located about 40 kms from kodaikanal.

The trek path a little steep but worth an effort since the views are stunningly beautiful. A perfect trail for a weekend trek

the place is in round walk area,while walking there you get to see mountains closely its good place to spend half or one hour

The Kukkal Caves is an archaeological site which is near to Kodaikanal. Acient tribes named Paliyan was stayed in Kukkal caves..We spent lot of time here our kids enjoyed a lot and played here. Next time we would like visit again.

You need to travel till Pombarai and then walk down to this place. There are beaultiful plantations and pine forests on the way. There is a rest house also in the kukkal forest and caves are near to it. the valley view from here is...More

The ancient caves were once the earliest settlement of Paliyan tribals are now the camping site of the trekkers.
