One must visit here - firstly, it is not over crowded unlike other sightseeing options as only 25 cars per day are allowed a pass. Secondly, the sound of the water & the hills together make a beautiful combination for a wonderful evening. Also, the area is huge, you can sit around for hours. You are supposed to leave the... Berijam Lake is a reservoir near Kodaikanal town in Dindigul district . It needs permission to access this place. And they have only limited car allows.

You need to take permission from forest dept to take your own vehicle. We couldn't get it and used their vehicle. Excellent place. Unfortunately, there is a huge traffic these days, especially on weekends. It took around 3Hrs to cover 20 km for us.

You feel like you are in Switzerland.. only place where after coming you feel like you've justified your entire trip by coming here. Although it was tough to get the gate pass before entering into berigam lake. Nice place.. must visit.

The route to this place is very good - drive inside the thick forest and some breathtaking view points. The 5 min walk from vehicle parking to the lake is awesome! The entire valley like place is very clean and scenic.

Limited visitors allowed on a daily basis, so it still is less crowded. Very simple, just a lake view, dont even have a good place to sit and relax. The lake shore is quite spread but visitors are allowed on a small area only. Worth visiting once

This is now Berijam Pond with very little and dirty water at this time of April. Not sure if it gets filled up during the monsoon. Its not worth travelling more than an hour to see this lake with no other attraction around. The entry is restricted and permission has to be sought from the Forest Department office at Moonjikal... If you are getting here by a hired cab, it is not worth the money spent. Nothing worthwhile to see. You also have to pay an additional 200 rupees forest entry fee and also arrange some kind of an entry pass. Just not worth the trouble
