The hill station is located at the top of a mountain, offering stunning views of the surrounding area (provided the clouds are not there). It is a popular tourist destination and has a variety of activities to offer visitors. The best time to visit the hill station is in the morning, when the clouds are less likely to be present. Parking can be a challenge, so it is best to arrive early. The hill station is big enough to handle a large crowd, but it can get crowded during peak season. There are a variety of eateries and shops at the hill station, so you can find something to eat and drink to your liking. There are also a variety of points where you can take amazing pictures. As the name suggests, it requires a bit of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. Overall, the hill station is a great place to visit if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the views. Just be sure to plan your visit accordingly to avoid the crowds and the clouds.

Beautiful place. I went on a group day-trip from Madurai so between travel to and from and stopping off at various spots on the way we had a very short time to actually spend at Kodaikanal. I would recommend at least one night there to really enjoy the area. The view from Coakers walk is breathtaking if it's not cloudy (or Misty), just take your time to enjoy. There are quite a few restaurants and I had a quick bite at a Punjabi restaurant after my walk.

Coakers walk gives you a pleasant walk through the edge of a cliff, which either gives you a stunning view of the valley below or an amazing fog.
Take some cash in hand as there is plenty of opportunity to shop for dress, jewelleries, photos, show case items, and even get a tattoo.
There are a couple of points where you could get a binocular/telescopic view of the valley for a small entry fee.
Overall, it's a nice experience.

People over crocker walk looted us by charging 70/- than 20/- when we went to see the place, it was very dirty and nothing to see. Felt like normal walk balcony which we have near our home. Time waste and money waste.

I & my sister visited coakers walk early morning when there were only us. With minimal ticket fare, you can enter here. The view is serene. The chirping birds, marvellous view & soothing breeze made our day. I recommend to visit this place earliest. You can shop the stuff here & trust me they are better and cheaper than rest of Kodaikanal shopping places

Coaker's walk is a must visit if you are in kodai. You will enjoy clicking off if you love sceneries with breath taking views on one side as you walk. We were lucky as there was no mist and we could see the valleys clearly.
Entry fee Rs.35 per person is a bit high.
One entrance opens at 9am while the other opens at 7:30 am.
Loved the lemon tea we bought from street vendor in the walk.

Must visit to see the valley view on a clear sunny day.
It’s a small twenty thirty minute walk around the valley, with small shopping stuff and stalls at equal distances.
If you don’t get to see the view, try to go again, it worth it.
Also, please carry change for the entry tickets. When they see non local time of people they try to charge extra for mobile etc, whereas only still camera needs to be paid extra.

Holidays in Kodaikanal are incomplete without a visit to the Coaker's Walk, a beautiful man-made one km long walking plaza built on the mountains in the mesmerizing city of Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. The lovely path of Coakers Walk that curves by the edge of the gorgeous mountain have been constructed mainly for visitors to get a glimpse of Paradise on Earth. It is a preferred location for morning and evening walks to admire natures beauty.
The Coakers Walk is named after by Lt Coaker, who constructed it on the steep slope of the mountains. in mid eighteenth century & is about half a km away from the Kodaikanal Lake. The pathway is fenced by the edge of the mountain for the safety of the visitors.
It's a favorite location for activities like walking, cycling, sightseeing & photography. A walk here is a unique experience to capture the wonderful lush green valleys and the hills of Kodaikanal and make you feel like walking amongst the clouds.
Breathtakingly beautiful sight indeed !

Excellent view of the valley from this point. You need to walk a lot to enjoy. Initially I felt tired, but after the view, got the energy back. Best time will be the morning time visit as you will be able to view it property,I bet you will like the ice-cream in chill winter time as well, boiled corn etc. Spend a quality time with your family and kid.

It’s a walk hugging the mountain with views of the valley. I walked in pretty early in the morning hence found it to be peaceful. It seemed like the place that is filled with tourists and vendors.
Views and the houses along the way are gorgeous.

Book a A/c room which should help you to survive on nights. you would get jerkins and sweaters on the road side shops, Kodaikanal , you should be able to manage the cold.

It will be pleasant in May. However, it is wise to keep a light jerkins or shawl if you plan to go for an evening stroll.

Depends on the purpose of visit. For honeymoon, perfect time to visit. Foggy and cold whether. But for sight seeing would be bit hard due to thick fog. All places would be open for tourists.
