Looks pretty from far, but once you enter is a bit shabby and dirty. We paid 30rupees each at the entrance, the ticket man tried to charge us 200 each, however luckily our tutuk driver had told us that students go cheaper. It was fine for 30 rupees, but any more would have been a waste of money. We sat... More

First of all, this isn't a palace. Its a small house type structure which is nice. the best part about Sukh Niwas Mahal is that its on the banks of Jait Sagar lake and from a certain distance it looks amazing. But I can't say that from the inside. From inside, there are just 3 rooms, and a small roof.... More

First of all its not some big mahal. But being a ancient monument it does posses some architectural charm. It is surrounded by a beautiful lake which enhances it's beauty. Can go once.

Not very crowded and situated on the lake, and hence the best place to cool off yourself after the heat has taken its toll. Not much to see and pretty average architecturally, but the setting is very beautiful and a perfect relaxing place. Hence the name - Sukh means Comfort and Mahal means Palace.

We could not visit this from the inside as we reached after closing time ( 5pm). It was of value to us as lovers of literature to see where Kipling wrote part of Kim. Its location on the edge of the reservoir is beautiful.

Unfortunately not looked after. This could be a major tourist at attraction if it was kept clean rather than loads of money being spent on some stupid flower beds in red sandstone. What are they thinking about!! The room where Kipling stayed is now a rundown office for the manager of the place, with florescent lighting slapped onto the walls.... More

Our guide Bunty (Cookie Jr) promised us that this place will bring serenity upon our tired souls and it surely did. It is a great escape from the heat and noise of the town. Situated along the banks of the Jait Sagar lake, this place is a haven of peace and quiet. Sukh Niwas is where Charles Dickens resided while... More

Rs 15/- composite ticket takes us to 3 places: Sukh mahal, Raniji ki baori and 84 pillared cenatoph. Off these three, Sukh mahal is best place to visit. Calm and cool lake, Monkeys, for a change, that are at peace, birds chirping around, locals swimming and cooling. Nice place to spend a couple of hours.

Worth a quick look while you're in Bundi. A serene and calm place with views over the lake. Worth a trip out but won't take more than half an hour as there's not much to it!
