Bundi was definitely well worth the stop during our trip throughout Rajasthan and no visit of Bundi is complete without exploring the ruins of the Taragargh Fort towering majestically over the city. Sadly, a closer look reveals the deplorable state of the ruins. Time has treated this place mercilessly and it is almost fully engulfed by nature, with wild monkeys... More

The Taragarh Fort is one of those hidden jewels, worthy of a detour. Yes, it is old, neglected and in urgent need of restauration, but it is also beautiful, with unparalleled views of the Bundi, and gorgeous murals. I'm glad we took the time to make the climb up the hill. A local guide is a must here!

Avoid paying the ridiculous entrance fee at the main gate by trekking around the back of the fort (about 30/40 mins) to a secret entrance, but easy to find. The fort ruins are great, very unrestored and overgrown with a Shiva temple to climb to get the best view over all Bundi and surrounding areas. The monkeys are everywhere, but are very relaxed... Definitively a bit of a climb to get there but it is worth it, very unkept sites but very romantic and great views. Glad we made the effort.

It's a steep climb but well worth it for some stunning views from the top. The fort is pretty overgrown but you can see murals among the graffiti and imagine the one-time grandeur. It's like a scene from Jungle Book!

The fort if a must visit place when in Bundi. Be warned however it is quite a steep climb up to the fort and a hard climb down ( killer on the knees) and the monkeys need to be given a very wide berth. The fort must have been magnificent in its heyday and our guide really brought the opulence... More

After visiting the Garh Palace we climbed the hill to the Taragarh Fort. This huge fort made for an interesting ending to our day. The climb is very steep but the fort was interesting to visit. It is not in the best repair but allows you to " step back in time " and imagine how it was 100's of... More

Taragarh fort is the star attraction of this tiny little hamlet called Bundi. One can reach here very easily from railway station (5km). Autos available upto the fort complex entrance. Rs 80/- ticket for Indians and there you are inside the temple complex to admire the beauty of this magnificent Bundi fort and chitrashala (for queen- well kept)- both in... More

The fort looks magnificent from outside. However, unfortunately this fort is out of bounds for Indians.
