It is inside the Garh Palace and near to the Ratan palace. This was Diwan-e-Aam of the Bundi state where State guests were entertained. On the roof top of this palace, there are Phool Mahal and Badal Mahal that were like Harems and used by the queens. There is a fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Our guide also showed us the Bedroom of the king with rich paintings of Golden work. The place where king used to entertain his guests also has a secret tunnel to escape. Do take a guide to know and understand about the palace. I would recommend Kukki.

Chhatra Mahal is a smaller palace higher up the hill than the main palace - covered in the same entrance ticket. As you approach the main palace elephant gate turn right. The palace has a delightful hanging garden and one room open to the public that is covered in interesting wall paintings. If you have limited time go to this palace first as it is by far the most photogenic and interesting.

Chhatra Mahal is on the western side of Bundi Palace and is one of many palace/ mansions of Garh Palace. To enter here one has to walk from Hathia Pol and Ratan Mahal. Chhatra Mahal was more like a haram of Bundi emperor where the queens use to live and only the maharaja or their sons were allowed to enter. I have some images of this part of the palace, have a look.

Chhatra Mahal is part of Garh Palace. You need not take a separate ticket. It is in bad state of preservation. The hall inside veranda has a door with ivory inlay work. The frame around the door has mirror inlay work. The walls have many paintings in cupboards/jharokhas but they hare not good state. This must have been a real royal place in its prime time. In the courtyard outside this palace there is a small pond with pipe for fountains and enthusiastic guide Kuki will blow water out to show how it works. You can get good view of Nawal Sagar and town from this courtyard. The courtyard has also got small pigeon holes which were used to house messenger/courier pigeons.
