This Mahal is in the Garh Palace inside the Taragarh Fort. In fact, there are two palaces and this one is on the upper storey. Both were used by Queens of Bundi state (Harem). The palace room is locked but can be accessed by asking the man on duty to open it. A small one room Mahal, this houses exquisite paintings. On the ceiling, there are paintings of ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu of Indian Mythology. Some of the wall paintings have Mongolian influence. A couple of paintings are erotic in nature which your guide would tell. Do visit if you are inside the Garh Palace.

The palace is constructed within the Taragarh Fort and its walls are covered with exquisite paintings and murals which are interesting as they depict an influence of Chinese culture. The palace is located on a steep hill and offers a panoramic and breathtaking view of the entire city of Bundi below the ramparts of the Taragarh Fort. Sadly the fort is in a deteriorated condition through neglect but the palace is an impressive multi level structure.

It was a good change for all of us when we saw this Badal Mahal. It had good historical presence within itself and was neat and clean.
